Meet Blessing Shuman

We had the good fortune of connecting with Blessing Shuman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Blessing, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
I define success as persistence in pursuing a goal even when the reward is not immediate or recognized. We live in a culture addicted to applause and it can steer us away from doing things with the purity of heart we started with. Success isn’t a destination, but a lifelong, messy, beautiful journey.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started this brand in 2018 with a simple but heartfelt mission, to encourage women in their faith through fashion. I’ve always believed fashion is more than wearing beautiful clothes; it’s a way to remind women they’re already beautiful just as they are, even while growing into who God created them to be. When I moved to Texas, I began serving women through local nonprofits, which deepened my passion for encouraging others. That experience led me to earn a life coaching certification to build on my Psychology background, and eventually launch Embracing Your You Coaching, where I help women discover and step into the fullness of who God has called them to be.
One of the things I’m most proud of is our yearly initiative, The Embrace Beauty Blessing. It’s a vision I first had in college and rediscovered years later. Each year, we host a full day of pampering for selected women—complete with hair, makeup, nails, a beautiful outfit, and a professional photoshoot. Partnering with local entrepreneurs, we create an experience that helps women see themselves through God’s eyes. Watching them light up from the inside out is pure joy.
I’m also deeply proud of our ongoing program, Embrace Your C.R.O.W.N., an eight-week journey designed to help women grow in their biblical identity and confidence. Hearing the countless testimonies from participants who’ve chosen to invest in themselves reminds me why this work matters so much. Seeing lives transformed through faith and sisterhood is truly one of my greatest joys.
The journey hasn’t always been easy. There have been financial challenges and seasons of stretching, but my faith has kept me grounded. What sets me apart is my willingness to “look crazy” for my calling, I’ve always believed that if God gives me a vision, He’ll make a way. Through it all, I’ve learned to stay authentic, embrace change, and trust that every pivot has purpose.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit, we’d have the best week ever! We’d start in Fort Worth at the Stockyards, soaking in the scene, maybe riding a horse or two, and grabbing some good ol’ Texas barbecue at Riscky’s. Then it’s time for a mani and pedi done at Rose Couture Nail Bar, a stroll through the Fort Worth Water Gardens and a relaxing spa day at WorldSprings in The Colony, because self-care is a must!
Midweek, we’d head to Bishop Arts District for food, shopping, and all the creative vibes. I’d sprinkle in some adventure with a visit to the Perot Museum, then hop on Tea Around Town for the cutest Dallas sightseeing experience. We’d shop at NorthPark Center, have dinner at RH Rooftop, and end the night with a drink and skyline views at Reunion Tower.
And of course, brunch at Yardbird is non-negotiable, and you can’t leave Texas without a proper steak at Perry’s near Klyde Warren Park. If it’s football season, you already know, we’re catching a game! It’d be a week full of laughter, great food, and those little moments that make you say, “Yep, this is the blessed life.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this to the people who have been intricate in my journey. My husband Frederick Shuman, Jr. partnered in faith with me toward a dream I had nothing more than mustard seed faith to begin. He has invested countless years of sacrifice, money, and carrying the burden of our home so I could serve others. Without his support, I would not have had the confidence to pursue this call. As Embrace transitioned toward my call to life coaching, my mentor and now friend Nurisha Liggins became the fire I needed to set me ablaze and she remains a warming light, reminding me of what’s inside, especially when seasons blurred my vision. To my supportive family and friends, and most of all my Savior, Jesus Christ, this is for you.
