We had the good fortune of connecting with Billy Weigler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Billy, what do you attribute your success to?
I would say the most important factor behind my success is staying inspired and being excited for those around me. The things and people around me have been a huge catalyst in my success. Running Folklore Tattoo Company, my tattoo shop, has shown me that inspiration can come from so many places. From remodeling projects that showcase my woodworking to watching the tattoo artists that work with me grow their skills and clientele; it’s been very rewarding. Providing great customer service, engaging with our clients on a collaborative level, and producing high quality artwork in a comfortable and inclusive environment is why our clients keep coming back time and time again.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our quality of work sets us apart from other tattoo shops. We value creating custom pieces of art that hold up well over time. I’m really proud of the group of artists we’ve assembled and eclectic yet traditional vibe we’ve created on the interior of the shop. It is a cool space that people are excited about when they walk in. My shop’s success is often tied to my own success as an artist, which took years of hard work, drawing, traveling and networking to build. However, through that I’ve created an inspiring space that people want to come visit. That’s why we are able to host guest artists almost every month and feature the most talented artists in Dallas.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely stop by the Perot Museum, the Dallas Art Museum, Bishop Arts for a drink and a cigar, Kalachandjis for some delicious food, and Cidercade because they have pinball machines, cider and food trucks.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
