Meet Big Motion | President of Major Motion Music Group (3MG) / Manager / A&R

We had the good fortune of connecting with Big Motion and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Big Motion, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The single most important decision I made was valuing the people I network with in this business like they are actual human beings and not objects. The reason I say that is because the music business is very much a people business. When you build value into other’s network, they subconsciously build into yours if not consciously. We are here to make great music and business, but maintaining a positive and professional relationship with your peers in this industry is what keeps the business spinning.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a manager , A&R , and president of Major Motion Music Group LLC. We are an administrative agency who handles the business for the clients as well as provide A&R services for artists and producers. What separates us is that we are the motion. We don’t focus on hoping on the trends because we set them. I got to where I am today by being confident in my ear, utilizing my resources without exhausting them, showing and demanding respect, being humble enough to know when I am hearing credible information, and doing my own research. Overcoming doubters and nay-sayers are an everyday obstacle even when you begin to make the money. What I learn from sports is, people will always throw doubt until they see the final score. I want the world to know that 3MG is a brand that prides itself on respect , culture , and innovation. We Are The Motion !

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely have to hit one of my favorite local wing spots 520 tavern. walk it off at the beach or kick it at a park. Maybe play basketball or whatever. Go to one of my favorite sports bars to play pool and grab a drink. Maybe end the day with taking a walk downtown in city market or river st.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
first and foremost I want to thank the Most HIgh for the ability to do what we love everyday. I want to thank my mother for supporting my passion when she didn’t understand it. I want to shoutout my artist Mackbo for motivating me to take this path. I want to shoutout my dawg Wade B for introducing me to the industry and being a good friend. I want to thank my dawg Rastaman for being one of the first to go on this journey with me at 3MG . And I want to thank the entire 3MG family for believing in themselves because we are the motion .
