We had the good fortune of connecting with Beverly Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beverly, do you think your parent’s parenting style has impacted you and your life?
Our household was based on Christian Principles and the standards which my parents lived by modeled Christianity. As children, my siblings and I developed our views of God from God’s images reflected in our parents. They made it easy for us to understand the importance of a lifestyle of integrity. Dad often told us “Your word is worth more than your money”. I credit my parents for creating an environment of self discipline and integrity. Growing up, the one thing I remember the most is how diligent Dad worked. He worked as a Diesel Mechanic until health forced his retirement. He was never late to work nor do I ever recall ever hearing him complain about work or the work he did. If overtime was offered, he was there. He proudly wore his uniform, took the utmost care of his tools and uniform and spoke very highly of his position and employer. For Mom, education was president. Just as Dad never missed work, Mom made sure we never missed school unless absolutely necessary. Being late was never an option and homework and schoolwork had priority over any outside activities. I credit my parents for laying the foundation in my siblings and I at a young age to desire a relationship of our on with God and to approach life in their footsteps with integrity. They were consistent in their Christian walk, career, managing their household and relationships by actively demonstrating honesty and virtue. Although, I don’t always get it right, my goal is to live a lifestyle such as much parents taught and that is with morals and ethics. I desire to be viewed by my clients as someone who can be expected to deliver what they promised and on time. To me, it’s more than just a concept. It’s the foundation of success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As the Owner and Operator of Bfit, I not only assist individuals in losing weight, I help them develop behavior patterns to make it a lifestyle. My certifications include, Fitness Training, Nutrition and Transformation Specialist. I’m not just a fitness trainer. I understand the effects food has on our day-to-day activities, our performance, and overall well-being. I’ve learned what we put in our bodies affects not only our current health and happiness, but sets the stage for our future well-being (and I plan to be super-active, healthy and happy 100-years old). I work with my clients through their different stages of their health journey both physically and mentally by challenging them to understand the effects of their decisions. I believe God wants us to be healthy! It not only glorifies Him. But it better equips us for what His plan is for our life. I share with my audience ways to approach their goals by first understanding what their ultimate goals are and then dissecting them into bite size pieces in a way that can be sustained as a lifestyle. Over the the past twenty years, I have been privileged to share my message and inspire people through my inspirational talks, wellness coaching, personal and group fitness sessions and workshops. I have learned from the best and have had the opportunity of developing a successful professional career while raising a great family. I share my passion and lessons learned with all who strive to discover, experience, and enjoy a lifestyle of well-being. I have a judgement-free, no-nonsense, keep-it-simple approach to nutrition, health and life, and (compassionately) tell it how it is. My Services include: Public Speaking, Personal and Group Fitness Training, Nutrition Training, Healthy Cooking Training, Health and Wellness Training and Workshops. I’ve always been athletic and running is my favorite past time. I want to share this passion and help motivate others to get moving!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a fan of keeping it simple and I LOVE to laugh and eat. I’m not much for big crowds and I thoroughly enjoy small venues and good old southern hospitality. Some of my favorite spots include local restaurants in Fort Worth for some amazing Mexican Food and Drinks. Couple that with a A Comedy Show at the local Improv, followed by a quick dessert makes a perfect date night or girls night out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to Shoutout the Camp Gladiator Organization. I started my business in 2013, assisting women to become a healthier version of themselves by eating better and exercising. I joined the Camp Gladiator organization as a Partner Trainer in 2018. It is through this organization, I have been able to daily impact the lives of over 100 individuals to develop a healthier behavior and an overall way of life. Camp Gladiator has afforded me a platform to share my skills, education and passion for health and wellness by facilitating structure Bootcamps with an amazing support team. Building my business hasn’t been easy. However, with the encouragement and support of my husband and the collaboration with Camp Gladiator, I can fully service anyone who desire to live a healthier lifestyles.
