We had the good fortune of connecting with Beth DiCarlo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beth, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factors behind my success so far have been hard work, support, and persistence.

In essence my business is a one woman show. Whether it’s catching up on emails and paperwork, conceptualizing future events, or producing custom pieces; I put in the work every single day. Even if it is something small it’s important for me to give energy to my business every day. This job also involves a lot of hustle and heavy lifting which are challenges that I tackle head on. I have been referred to as the Energizer Bunny a time or two!

I have received an overwhelming amount of support in my community. I feel fortunate to be able to walk to meetings in my own neighborhood from the many friends and neighbors who have hired me. I feel their love and support and it fuels me to grow Joyful Day bigger and better. My family and support system are always there to encourage and lend a helping hand. This one woman show wouldn’t work without the support of so many, and I am forever indebted and grateful for that.

Lastly, persistence. This journey hasn’t happened in the blink of an eye. It has been four years full of humble growth with some twists and turns along the way. Without doubt nothing worth having is easy, and this has been no exception. From each hiccup and learning experience along the way, and now through the worst of covid my desire to make Joyful Day a success has never wavered. I feel having endured the downside I am ready to hit the ground running and make up for lost time. I look forward to this year and what it will bring back for this amazing industry.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

Joyful day creates one-of-a-kind event experiences through a bit of whimsy—fun pops of color and on-trend décor. I have worked with my clients from full-scale planning to design and day-of coordination. I’ve done local and out-of-state wedding ceremonies from backyards to the most beautiful hotel ballrooms, I do corporate and charity events, as well as backdrop installations and parties of every kind. With each and every event, I try to create an overall experience that is both unique to my client’s needs and unforgettable for guests attending. In this Pinterest and DIY world we are living in, I know there are so many resources out there to help create amazing events, so I feel honored when my clients entrust me with creating their vision. I am most proud when I see their reaction to how it all comes together.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
JFK Memorial, Cowboys Stadium, Dallas Museum of Art, Clyde Warren Park, Arboretum, Deep Ellum, Dallas Farmers Market and in my own backyard – Legacy West, The Star, Frisco Fresh Market and The Rail District. Dallas has so many amazing things to offer guests, a week isn’t long enough!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my Husband, Zach. Thank you for always believing in me, reaching things on high shelves and loading the car. I love you!
