We had the good fortune of connecting with Bennett Litwin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bennett, what is the most important factor behind your success?
For me, total commitment towards the goal is the only time I’ve found success. Having succeeded in several segments of life, notably careers, family, and creative arts, clarity of purpose lives, is alive and active, not a passenger. Success for me was hard, very hard! But I had no choice, I was so in! I’d dream and wake and eat the goal. How can I make it better, tighter, smarter? (kinder, funnier, in the case of my comedy writing.) Oh, and I failed more times than succeeded. Got to move on and learn those lessons. Keep learning. Keep processing new information. When the goal is important my mind remains more open to new ideas and routes towards the goal. Of course, emotions and countering currents, and irregular conflicts arise on the journey. That’s the fun! How do I get through this part? When open-minded, answers arrive in forms I’d previously not dreamt of. Finding the strongest me, and owning clear motivation is an ongoing challenge and a big part of the excitement I recently created a magnificent sci-fi comedy called FRACKERS. No one told me to make the movie. Why would they? I’d never produced a movie before. I simply had something to say and a highly creative way to say it. A close second in success is merging dreams with others who have the same high commitment towards the goal I believe this is why FRACKERS will be a world-wide phenomenon. Might be a year, or two, or more, yet FRACKERS is so rich, deep, fun, and heart-felt that we have an audience hungry for our message. And a team with high commitment towards excellence. We made the best comedy of 2020, and now off to find our audience. www.frackersmovie.com

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been writing books, poems and screenplays for years. I read widely and am curious about cultures different than what was raised in, embracing parts I like and discarding parts not meaningful to me. In 2007, the world economy changed and I took that as a sign to be an artist full-time. Lessons I learned in commercial real estate I applied as much as possilbe to film. Many overlaps and several divergences allowed me to grow as a person and an artist. Using my business skills of delegating, listening, budgeting, and people skills helped immensely manage the hundreds of people we worked with to make FRACKERS. I asked for no investors, and funded a feature film entirely on my own. I paid everyone who worked a fair wage, and got a few friend discounts on the mega-expenses of CG. This film is a classic endeavor of “Build it and they will come.” We had no pre-sales or distribution, simply a story we felt needed to be told, and told in a humorous way. Who is our audience? Anyone who might ever die. We deal with death so poorly in our society, and yet death is the one certainty each of us must face. How ironic! www.frackersmovie.com

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Today in COVID era, the question of where to go is not real. I would not have a friend socially engaging in activities with me other than golf or a walk from afar.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My son, Adam Litwin, is my amazing collaborator in writing and producing. Director Jeffrey Nicholson, Producer Chelsea Boatman, CG Supervisor Will Nicholson, and Composer Andrew Morgan Smith made huge contributions to our success. The Filosophs are my mentors and friends. Thank you to my mother and father, of course, and my sweetheart Gayla Wilson, and biggest inspirations are grandkids Cameron and Troy for whom I wish to make the world a better place.
