We had the good fortune of connecting with Benjamin McDonnell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Benjamin, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most crucial factor behind the success of my photography business is a combination of artistic vision and exceptional customer service. As a photographer, my ability to capture unique and compelling images that resonate with clients is essential. This artistic vision allows me to create visual stories that evoke emotions and connect with people on a deeper level.

Equally important is the emphasis I place on providing outstanding customer service. Building strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and exceeding their expectations sets the foundation for repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals. Clear communication, attentiveness to detail, and a willingness to go the extra mile contribute to a positive experience for my clients.

By maintaining a balance between artistic expression and customer satisfaction, I’ve been able to establish a strong brand reputation and foster lasting connections within the photography industry and with my clients.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m particularly proud of my ability to connect with individuals and bring out their unique personalities in my work. Whether it’s a candid moment or a meticulously composed portrait, I strive to reveal the essence of my subjects, creating images that feel genuine and relatable.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way are invaluable. I’ve discovered that genuine connections with clients are the cornerstone of success. Building trust and open communication fosters an environment where creative collaboration flourishes. Additionally, embracing change in the industry and staying updated with emerging trends keeps my work relevant and fresh.

My brand and story represent a journey of dedication, resilience, and a commitment to excellence. I want the world to know that behind every photograph I capture is a passion for creating moments frozen in time, and an unwavering dedication to delivering an exceptional experience to my clients. My story is a testament to the fact that with hard work, a thirst for knowledge, and an unyielding passion, one can transform their aspirations into a fulfilling reality.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As soon as they land at DFW I would start with a hearty Tex-Mex breakfast at a local favorite like Joe T. Garcia’s in Fort Worth.

Then we would Explore the Fort Worth Stockyards, catch the daily cattle drive, and immerse yourselves in the Old West atmosphere.

End the day and Head to Deep Ellum in Dallas for a lively night of live music, vibrant street art, and eclectic dining options.

Finally, go back to my ranch in Granbury and hang out with all the animals and, take some photos of course.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Stephanie Girard!! She as photographed me for the past 10 years and has been my constant source of inspiration throughout my journey in the photography business. Her relentless dedication to her craft, coupled with her boundless creativity, has shown me the possibilities that exist within this field.

Witnessing Stephanie’s ability to capture moments in such a unique and emotive way has pushed me to think beyond the conventional and embrace my own creative instincts. Her work has taught me that photography is not just about technical proficiency, but about conveying a story and eliciting emotions through each frame.
