We had the good fortune of connecting with Beki Pubill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beki, what do you attribute your success to?
Creative Direction. The organic source fed artistic drive fueled by a sense of purpose, ignited by passion and designed with vision. The creative process is everything. It involves a cycle of observing the field to identify patterns in our collective consciousness, noticing trends forming as popular opinions, desires, and ideas take root. I do this by staying connected to my industry through groups on social media that connect brands, minds, and artists and give a platform for honest opinions to be voiced. Listening in. Hearing what’s being said in the global conversation around what we are loving and moving into as we release the old and outdated. It’s not enough to know what’s trending. You must understand why, what’s the motivation behind the movement, and how it can best serve you to integrate accordingly. Like surfing a wave, you must observe what’s coming in before you hop on board for the ride. This informs me what I need to do, how I need to grow, ways I must educate myself and prepare myself for what’s next. Ten years ago, this used to look like Hairdressing, being a good hairstylist and educational director for my salon. Five years ago, this became a balancing act of starting my own business and expanding into multiple locations running two private salon suites weekly. Today I get to enjoy the work/life balance that has been created, that allows me to pursue even more personal goals outside of work while maintaining fluid operations sustainably throughout the year. Engaging in a creative flow that is satisfying because it gives me freedom and expression to transform and evolve. I love engineering. Being able to design, to experience, reflect, and innovate accordingly. The most empowering thing we have is our ability to make choices that delight us and serve well. It completely overrides any fear, doubt, or difficulty that would otherwise present itself when we’re charged up by what truly motivates and drives us, and for me success could not happen without allowing myself to nurture the deep intimate connection to the pallette of my taste, not just in style but in space, in vibe, and in concept. Because what I envision is more than just look, it’s a feel. What I deliver to my audience is more than just a hairstyle, it’s a sharpening of the perception of the self made possible by an accurate reflection of how amazing they are. This attracts wonderful people to me who just make my job easier. I get to be surrounded by truly incredible people all the time. It completely shifts you into a wider range of possibility when you get to interact with people who inspire you to keep leveling up. The success of Style for Love comes from the heart, what we see when we look in the mirror is not up for judgement, it is up for promotion, elevation, illumination, and upgrades. This is the game changer of the spirit of my brand. We don’t look for Beauty on the outside. We raise Her, from within, with love, and it shows.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Hi, I am Beki Pubill and I am the founder, director, and stylist of Style for Love.

Style for Love is a beauty business that aims to cultivate beauty from within using life affirming principles that combine inner spiritual truth with outer physical aesthetic.

My background began with becoming certified in cosmetology at 14 years old in 1997 at McKinney High School’s vocational industrial leadership program and then grew with TONI & GUY Hairdressing at 17 years old in 2000, world renowned for excellence in education, artistry, and service. With them I became a teacher and continued as educational director for 13 years.
During this time my personal development was also enhanced by studying metaphysics, becoming certified in Integrated Energy Therapy, Organic Reiki, Yoga, sound healing facilitation and other modalities that enhanced my sense of well-being and generated the source of understanding that was vital to my success.
I left corporate America in 2013 to pursue my own path under my own creative direction which was more precisely guided by what truly motivates and inspires me. Style for Love was born as I found myself to be more intimately initiated by factors that tested my integrity and resolve.
I continued to run a private hair salon business while studying yoga and wellness and eventually expanded into 2 location across the metroplex in Dallas & Allen, plus facilitating yoga meditation and sound healing for the community locally as requested.

My motto, Life. Love. Style. is a template by which I approach beauty with a creative perspective. We experience life with stages and cycles of time, seasonally we adapt to our environment to enjoy the best life has to offer. Love respresents the passion, drive, and motivation we each correspond to individually that encourages us to do the work of aligning with all that sparks our zest for life and fosters expression, communication and connection. Style is the best part- this is where we shape our experience in a fulfilling and satisfying way as we age gracefully and move through life cycles over time.

My entire practice is based upon my spiritual path which continues to initiate me into deeper levels of understanding myself and my world as I continue to evolve and grow. Most importantly, I use the mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum” to light my way as I venture. It is translated to “Hail the jewel in the lotus” and draws its wisdom from the journey of the lotus flower as it overcomes obstacles of growing through the mud and into the light, where it blossoms into its fullest expression and potential. This symbolism is recognized and revered by many civilizations and spiritual organizations over human history, the lotus flower has and continues to thrive as a source of inspiration and renewal over millennias as it teaches us the value of purification from our very core as embodied beings, describing detoxification from the soul of humanity. Widely popular in buddhism, this mantra tells us the jewel represents enlightenment and the lotus represents wisdom. OM purifies ego, MA purifies jealousy, NI purifies desire, PAD purifies judgement, ME purifies greed, HUM purifies hatred. It is from this teaching that I found my way, and my resolve to rise above the obstacles I encounter in life and my choice to not be defined by them but rather by how I overcome. I will not be a victim, I will be victorious!! I will meet my challenges with integrity and clarity of purpose – with beauty grace and style! This is the testament of who I am in my business and the character of my mission to cultivate beauty from within.
It is responsible for the magic and miracles I have witnessed in my career development as I evolved over the past 20 years in business from a hairstylist to yoga teacher to sound healing and meditation facilitator.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visit Dallas, we would do all the things!! We would visit Kalachandji’s restaurant for a vegetarian meal in a gorgeous temple setting then maybe do a meditation meetup at Atma Bhakti Center or yoga class at YAM (yoga•art•music). Thai food at places like Tukta Thai, tacos at Tacodeli, Torchys or Velvet Taco would also be a must, and dining at Irish pubs like the Old Monk for fun friendly atmosphere.
We would relax for a day at King Spa and have massages, body scrubs and facials to refresh. We would stop at the Juice Bar for an energizing refreshment and shop local stores like Genesis Benefit Thrift which features the best prices on brand name clothing while supporting a great cause. We would then dress up & hit up the Green Elephant on Wednesday night for dancing and drum jamming under the stars. We would bike White Rock Lake with Dallas bicycle tours and enjoy the sunset before heading out to enjoy some jazz at The Balcony Club in Lakewood. Another day we could go explore the nature trails and spectacular views by Dogwood Audubon Center at Cedar Hill Nature Preserve. On the weekend we could hit up the Dallas Farmers market and shop local art then head to Deep Ellum Art Co for incredible music performances & more dancing.
A week with me would be jam packed with amazing food, music, yoga, dancing, shopping and exploring! Dallas has so much to offer!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be where I’m at today without every bit of support I received from the very beginning. I started training to be a professional hairstylist at 14 years old as a sophomore in Mckinney high school who still has a thriving cosmetology program to this day. Vocational and leadership training polished us beyond the trade to get us workforce ready and I was hired by TONI & GUY by 17. At the time my family and home life had completely crumbled. My parents were divorced, I went from living in a spacious home with food in the pantry to a tiny apartment with less attention from distracted parents. My boyfriend at the time became more of a caretaker and I got pregnant at 16 years old to the shock and complete disappointment of my family. I was devastated, when I went into the cosmetology room to confess my condition my teacher was completely unphased. She reassured me that I would be fine and sent me right back to class. The school stepped in and connected me to resources and healthcare. My relationship went sour and boyfriend became physically abusive during and after the pregnancy. There was no going back to him or to my dysfunctional family home. The only choice was to move forward. So I graduated high school with honors, a cosmetology license, a promising career, and a beautiful daughter. I got my first apartment shortly after graduation and continued to succeed in my career as a stylist, educator, and director for another 13 years before starting my own business. I didn’t just barely make it. I hit the ground running, thriving every step of the way. I found freedom with my practice, it was my livelihood that allowed me to create a new future, free from dysfunction and abuse. From a really young age. Then at 19, the educators from TONI&GUY trained me in all the skills and disciplines they could at the time to create a strong foundation in me that continues to serve to this day. And when the day came that it wasn’t enough, I found myself in yet another young vulnerable stage as an entrepreneur starting a new business on my own. That’s when my spiritual path became of greater importance and Lisa Ware of Yoga4love came to my life. Coming out of corporate America had me needing to restore my mental health and elevate out of a deep depression in my soul. I admired how she came from the heart in her teachings and so I proceeded to align in a similar fashion. Coming from a place of love in all I do, especially with work. And so now we have Style for Love. Many mentors have contributed to what it has become today, people who went the extra mile to ensure I would make it safely through, with my business, my family, and my health. And exactly when it was needed, when I was young, vulnerable, and lost. It’s what saved my life from victimhood to victory. That’s why it became more than a hair salon. It is a movement, guided by love. It is an inheritance made possible by those who came before me, to ensure I had the education, the wisdom and the resources to thrive against all odds and persevere.
