Meet Barbara Carr | Mompreneur ( Mom and Entrepreneur)

We had the good fortune of connecting with Barbara Carr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Barbara, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
As a parent, the most important thing I’ve done in terms of the impact on my children is to be proactive and present in their lives. I don’t tell my story a lot and many don’t know it, but I grew up in foster care. Details of my childhood and reasons I was taken away from my parents have never really been anything I would want to share. I didn’t grow up in a 2 parent household with my biological mother and father. I didn’t have parents that showed up to every sports game or school event. I didn’t have anyone to invest in me. A lot of the things I do, am doing, and will continue to do is because I didn’t get it growing up. I always said I would never want my children to go through the things I went through, and I will stand on that. Parenting is no easy job by all means, but I will always do the best I can and always be there for mines no matter what.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
A lot of people call me the Jack of All Trades! From working a full time corporate job to owning a beauty business, offering meal prep services and more, I’m definitely set apart from others. I’m most proud of my drive to be an entrepreneur and excited for what my future may hold. I work hard and go after my dreams. It’s not easy, giving up is easy. Staying motivated and focused will help overcome challenges. You can’t be afraid to network and promote yourself. Sometimes that’s my biggest downfall, but I’ve learned that you are all you got! You have to push yourself if nobody else will. I pride myself in black excellence and customer service. I will one day have a well known brand. My story will be heartfelt and motivation for others. Many people can say they had help, but not too many can say they actually started from the bottom and got it out the mud!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
They are so many places to check out in Dallas! Top Golf, Andrettis Go Karting, bowling or a hookah lounge are always fun places to hang! You also have plenty of restaurants to checkout in Downtown Dallas. A few favorites are Perrys Steakhouse, Smoky Rose, and Moxies.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My two little ones, Cayden and Briella! They are so young yet so smart, loving and caring. They show me unconditional love and teach me to be patient. Parenting can have its moments but at the end of any bad day, we always show each other that we love one another. Anytime I want to give up, I have them to look at and remember why I have to keep pushing.
