We had the good fortune of connecting with Ayisha Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ayisha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my businesses and podcast stemmed from a deep-rooted passion for storytelling and a desire to amplify the voices of others. My journey began in Flint, Michigan, and flourished in Atlanta, Georgia, where I grew up immersed in vibrant cultures and inspiring people. These experiences shaped my creative perspective and became the foundation for my career.

As a photographer and videographer, I focused on capturing authentic stories through my lens, from celebrity events to corporate projects. This work not only refined my skills but also solidified my belief in the power of resilience and individuality—qualities that make every story unique.

That belief inspired the launch of **Arc Edge Styles**, my streetwear brand. The bold designs reflect the individuality and creativity I admire in the people I’ve worked with, offering a way to celebrate personal expression through wearable art.

My passion for storytelling further evolved into creating **The ARC Spotlight** podcast. This platform gives athletes, entrepreneurs, celebrities, and everyday people the opportunity to share their journeys. By highlighting authentic conversations about success, resilience, and lessons learned, the podcast aims to inspire dreamers and creatives to pursue their goals relentlessly.

Whether through my creative media business, my fashion brand, or my podcast, everything I do ties back to celebrating and sharing stories that matter. It’s my way of honoring the journey and empowering others to share theirs.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My businesses, CreativeArc Media and Arc Edge Styles, along with The ARC Spotlight podcast, are all extensions of my passion for storytelling and creating meaningful connections. CreativeArc Media focuses on capturing impactful moments, whether it’s through photography, videography, or behind-the-scenes content. My goal is to tell authentic stories that resonate with people and leave a lasting impression. Arc Edge Styles, my streetwear brand, celebrates individuality and boldness, blending creativity with fashion to create designs that reflect the uniqueness of the people who wear them. With The ARC Spotlight, I’ve built a platform to amplify inspiring voices and share stories of success, resilience, and perseverance.

What sets me apart is my ability to bridge creativity and authenticity in everything I do. I don’t just provide a service or a product—I aim to create experiences that inspire and empower others. One of the things I’m most proud of is how my work has opened doors for others, whether it’s through the stories I’ve captured, or the platforms I’ve built.

Getting to where I am today has been anything but easy. Building a brand, managing multiple ventures, and navigating the creative industry required persistence, adaptability, and a deep belief in my vision. Challenges like limited resources, balancing time, and finding my footing in competitive spaces were all hurdles I had to overcome. I leaned on my support system, embraced continuous learning, and stayed focused on my goals to push through.

The biggest lessons I’ve learned are the importance of resilience, the value of relationships, and the power of staying true to your purpose. Every setback taught me something new, and every success reminded me why I started this journey.

If there’s one thing I want the world to know about my brand and story, it’s that everything I create comes from a genuine desire to inspire. From capturing unforgettable moments to creating wearable art and amplifying powerful voices, my mission is to make an impact that goes beyond the surface.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Dallas for a week, I’d craft an unforgettable itinerary blending food, culture, and fun. We’d start with brunch at spots like Bread Winners Café or Snooze, then explore iconic landmarks like the Dallas Arboretum, Reunion Tower, and the Sixth Floor Museum. For shopping and art, we’d visit the Bishop Arts District, Dallas Museum of Art, and NorthPark Center. Evenings would be filled with live music in Deep Ellum, dining at places like Pecan Lodge or Nick & Sam’s, and drinks at Paradiso or The Rustic. Outdoor adventures at White Rock Lake, the Dallas Farmers Market, and a day trip to the Fort Worth Stockyards would round out the trip. From the city skyline to its vibrant culture, Dallas offers the perfect mix of history, creativity, and energy!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a special shoutout to my sorority sisters Nicolet Nathan and Lola Dominguez, as well as my mentor Leon Bennett, for providing me with the guidance and support that has been instrumental to my success.
