Meet Austin Little | Owner of Get After It

We had the good fortune of connecting with Austin Little and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Austin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind creating Get After It LLC has always been to create and tailor clothing products and training plans for my customers that inspire them to pursue their dreams. My original intent for owning a business is to create a better future for myself and my family. I desire to provide my family with good things, and I desire to create a business that is so fruitful, that ultimately future generations will be able to continue to prosper due to the business that I created. Providing my customers with quality products is something that I take pride in as the owner of Get After It and I am very greatful that I have been blessed by this business. My hope is that my business can be a blessing to others as well.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am currently an employee of Jobs Now and I specialize as a Supported Employment Specialist, meaning that I help individuals with severe disabilities to obtain employment. I have helped and supported various individuals throughout the entire process of obtaining a job by providing job coaching-related services. In my time working with Jobs Now I am most proud of the extent that I have been able to help my customers in various aspects of their lives. I have gone above and beyond for my customers on numerous occasions, and I often am required to engage in various roles to help my customers through the employment process. Often times I help individuals who have severe disabilities and difficult living situations, however, I have helped those individuals to turn their lives around by helping them to obtain employment, create financial freedom for themselves, and support them to recognize that they have more inside of them than what they realize. I am also currently enrolled in graduate school at Tarleton State University and I plan to become a Licensed Professional Counselor, as well as obtain my Ph.D.

Arriving in the place that I am currently at today has had various struggles and challenges, however, in times of distress, I have looked to the Lord for guidance and strength. Overcoming challenges in my personal life have ultimately helped me to recognize the resilience that resides within me. Every great quest contains challenges, and those very challenges yield incredible life lessons. I have learned to stay in my own lane and persevere regardless of what a situation may look like presently. I believe that the grace God has given me, along with the important life lessons pertaining to perseverance has helped me overcome, and arrive to be the man that I am today.

My desire is for the world to know that the slogan and name of my company-Get After It, is something that I have applied to every aspect of my life. Whether it is bodybuilding, academics, my career, or my customers, I give 100% to everything that I do. My current and future customers can rest assured that Get After It intends to provide the same tenacity and dedication to customer service as I have applied to each facet of my life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit the area for a week I would take him with me to bass fish at Hubbard Creek which is a lake located in Breckenridge, Texas. Monday we would get up at 5 AM, drive to Hubbard Creek, and fish all day long until 5 PM. On the way back we would drive to Fort Worth, Texas, and eat fried catfish at the Flying Fish, which is one of my favorite restaurants. The next day on Tuesday we would go crappie fishing at Lake Leon which is a lake located in Eastland, Texas. On the way back home I would stop by Mary’s Cafe in Strawn, Texas, which is a restaurant that has the best chicken fried steak in Texas. Wednesday we would bass fish at Lake Fork which is the best bass fishing lake in the state of Texas. On the way home I would stop at Uncle Julio’s in Fort Worth, Texas to eat dinner. Uncle Julio’s is an amazing Mexican food restaurant, with incredible customer service. Thursday we would travel to Eagle Mountain Lake and fish for crappie in the marinas, and for dinner, I would take my friend to Pappadeaux Seafood restaurant in Fort Worth. Pappdeaux has some amazing dishes, and it would truly hit the spot after a long day of fishing. Friday I would take my friend to bass fish at Weatherford Lake, which is located in Weatherford, Texas. At the end of the day, we would visit Skinny’s which is an incredible burger joint located in Weatherford. They have the best chili cheese fries and burgers that I have ever had. On Saturday and Sunday I would take my friend catfishing on the Brazos River so that we could relax, and on the way back home I would take him to eat at Mary’s Cafe on the Brazos, which is located in Weatherford, Texas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Telephous Mckinney is a man who has provided guidance every step of the way along my journey. I would not have been able to create my company Get After It without his help, and I would not be as far along as I am today in multiple facets of my life without his encouragement. Telephous is a genuine man of God, and has been a father figure to me. The extent of my gratitude cannot truly be expressed in words, but I can say that he has been there for me as a mentor in every aspect of my life regarding my company, bodybuilding, graduate school, and most importantly my faith in God. I have the utmost respect for Telephous, and I am so thankful that I have been blessed enough to cross paths with him.
