We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashly Westbrook and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashly, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success—and the growth of Westbrook Realty Group—has been a clear commitment to serving people before transactions.

I live and own property in Dallas, specifically in Uptown Dallas, and I don’t just work here—I’m part of this community. I walk the Katy Trail, understand the rhythm of the neighborhoods, and work closely with families and homeowners in Uptown and Highland Park who care deeply about their homes, their equity, and their future.

From the beginning, I made a decision that my role wasn’t just to help people buy or sell real estate—it was to help them make smart, confident decisions around one of the biggest assets they will ever own. That means educating first, being honest, and taking a long-term view—even when that doesn’t lead to an immediate transaction.

I’ve learned that success isn’t about doing the most deals; it’s about doing the right thing, consistently, for the right people. When clients feel informed and protected, trust is built—and that trust becomes the foundation of everything else.

Westbrook Realty Group has grown because our focus has never been volume—it’s been value. When you lead with integrity and truly serve your community, success follows naturally.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Westbrook Realty Group is built on one simple but powerful belief: people come before transactions. We serve homeowners and families throughout Dallas, with a strong focus on Uptown Dallas and Highland Park—communities I know personally because I live, own property, and invest here.

What sets us apart is our commitment to education and long-term thinking. My role isn’t just to help someone buy or sell a home—it’s to help them understand how real estate fits into their bigger financial picture. I want my clients to feel confident, informed, and protected when making decisions around one of their largest assets.

I’m especially proud that our growth has come through trust and referrals, not volume-driven sales. I walk the Katy Trail, I know the neighborhoods, and I stay deeply connected to the people who call this area home. That local connection matters.

Getting to where I am today was not easy. Building a brokerage required resilience, discipline, and a willingness to lead—even when things felt uncertain. There were challenges, moments of doubt, and seasons where I had to recommit to my vision. I overcame those challenges by staying grounded in my values, continuing to learn, and choosing consistency over shortcuts.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success isn’t about doing the most deals—it’s about doing the right thing, over and over again. When you lead with integrity, serve your community well, and take a long-term view, everything else follows.

What I want people to know about me and my brand is this: I care deeply about the people I serve. I believe real estate should be done with clarity, honesty, and heart—and that when you put people first, you don’t just build a business, you build a legacy.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Favorite Spots in the City: A Week in Dallas, Done the Local Way
If my best friend came to town and I wanted them to experience Dallas at its absolute best, I’d plan a week centered around incredible food, walkable neighborhoods, wellness, and the places that truly define life in Uptown, Highland Park, and the surrounding areas. Dallas has an energy that’s both vibrant and comfortable—and this itinerary captures that balance perfectly.

Day 1: Greenville Avenue Flavor (Worth the Detour)

We’d kick things off just outside Uptown on Greenville Avenue—because some places are simply too good not to include.

First stop is always Greenville Avenue Pizza Company. If you go, you have to order the Butcher’s Revenge pizza and the Caesar salad. It’s one of those spots locals swear by, and the weekday lunch special at $12 Monday through Friday is one of the best deals in the city. The neighborhood itself has a laid-back, authentic Dallas feel that makes it a great way to ease into the week.

Days 2–3: Uptown Eats, Katy Trail & City Energy

Next, we’d settle into Uptown Dallas, where the city’s pulse really lives.

Dining-wise, Las Palmas is a must. The food is incredible, but I always recommend going during off-hours if you want to avoid peak dinner crowds.

We’d also make time for Javier’s, a longtime Uptown staple. It’s classic, consistent, and perfect for anyone who appreciates a refined dining experience that never tries too hard.

No Uptown visit is complete without the Katy Trail. I suggest dedicating at least two days to it—walking up and down, stopping along the way, and people-watching. Between joggers, families, and what feels like every dog breed in the world, the trail is like a moving version of the Westminster Dog Show—one of the most charming and uniquely Dallas experiences you can have.

Right off the trail is Katy Trail Ice House, which is always buzzing. It’s one of the city’s most popular gathering spots and famously ranked among the top alcohol sales venues in the DFW Metroplex in 2025. When you see the crowd, it makes perfect sense.

Day 4: Plaza at Preston Center Comfort Classics

Next, we’d head north to the Plaza at Preston Center, which is full of relaxed, nostalgic favorites—and yes, you’ll quickly notice I love chips and hot sauce.

Muchacho Tex Mex is a must for an authentic Tex-Mex experience.

Just steps away is Flying Fish, which feels like a screened-in lake house. Their catfish is fantastic, and the atmosphere has a throwback quality that especially resonates if you grew up here or are Gen X—it’s totally local and incredibly fun.

Day 5: Inwood Village Atmosphere

One of my favorite dining experiences in Dallas is Odelay Tex Mex, near Lovers Lane. The fajitas are some of the best I’ve ever had, and the space itself is vibrant, energetic, and welcoming. Between the patio, bar, and large dining room, it’s perfect for a long, relaxed evening.

Day 6: Highland Park Village Luxury & Leisure

A Dallas visit isn’t complete without spending a full day at Highland Park Village. This is a place meant to be walked, not rushed.

It’s a designer’s dream—featuring iconic brands like Chanel, Cartier, Fendi, Harry Winston, Oscar de la Renta, Richard Mille, Rolex, Tom Ford, and Tory Burch—all set in a beautiful open-air environment.

I always recommend starting the day at Bird Bakery with coffee and something sweet before strolling the Village.

For lunch or cocktails, Honor Bar, Bistro 31, and Sadelle’s are always lively and full of energy—perfect for people-watching and soaking in the atmosphere.

Day 7: Lovers Lane Wellness + West Village & Uptown Nightlife

On the final day, I’d slow things down with wellness first, then ease into a relaxed Uptown evening.

I always start on Lovers Lane, where The Tox is my go-to for lymphatic drainage and alternative therapies. Just nearby is Yaya Foot Spa, a true local favorite. It’s always full, which says everything—people come here because it works and because it feels like real self-care, not a trend.

From there, I head to West Village, where wellness blends seamlessly into lifestyle. Hand & Stone Massage is where I go for facials and monthly maintenance, and Mendocino Farms is a must if you’re hungry—their seasonal goat cheese salad is phenomenal year-round.

To start the evening, I love grabbing a drink at Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown. The balcony views, relaxed crowd, and mix of locals and travelers make it the perfect transition from day to night. While you’re there, be sure to hop on the iconic McKinney Avenue Trolley—it’s a nostalgic, effortless way to explore Uptown and connect to dining, shopping, and nightlife along the route.

Why I Love Living Here

Dallas offers something rare: energy without chaos, luxury without pretense, and a true sense of community. Whether you’re walking the Katy Trail, sharing meals with friends, or enjoying long-standing traditions, it’s a city that truly feels like home—and that’s why I’m proud to live here, invest here, and represent this community every day.
