We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Palos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
For most of my professional life I worked for others gaining valuable experience and learning the ins and outs of different industries (from babysitting to becoming a medical assistant). Eventually, I landed a position at a surgeon’s office and it quickly became one of my favorite roles. I loved the work, the environment and most of all the opportunity to engage with patients and be part of something that truly made a difference in people’s lives.

One turning point for me came when we hosted our very first spa party. I was actively involved in planning and prepping for the event and contributing ideas, coordinating the setup, and helping with the experience. That night, we generated $35,000 in sales. It was an eye-opening experience. I remember thinking: “If I can help someone else achieve this level of success, why not do it for myself?”.

That realization sparked something in me. I’ve always had a passion for helping people. As a child I knew I wanted to do meaningful work that would positively impact others. My time in the medical field deepened that drive and gave me insight into how physical health, mental wellness, and self-care are deeply connected.

Starting my own business was about more than financial opportunity it was about creating a space where people could feel better about themselves inside and out. Mental health, especially, became a major motivator for me. I saw firsthand how prioritizing self-care could transform someone’s mindset and overall well-being. I wanted to build something that supported that transformation where beauty, wellness, and healing came together. I also saw how some self-care routines such as Massage Therapy were looked at as “Luxury” and not “Necessity” so my goal was to have a business that could be affordable for other while helping them out.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Absolutely. I’m a Licensed Massage Therapist, but I like to say that what I do goes beyond just massage—it’s more of a holistic and intuitive healing experience. Every BODY is different and I approach each session with a deep sense of care and presence. Over time I’ve learned to really trust my intuition. Sometimes I see or sense things that help guide the session in a way that brings deeper relief or emotional release. That connection sets my work apart and allows me to serve clients in a more meaningful way.

Starting my own business was not an easy road. I worked for over 15 years under others before deciding it was time to take a leap of faith- In which I encourage others to do!

I didn’t make the decision lightly but I reached a point where I knew I had to choose myself and that meant stepping into the unknown and building something on my own. There were challenges of course. There were moments of doubt and failure but I never gave up. If something didn’t work I redirected. I kept showing up and putting myself out there even when it was uncomfortable. Along the way I’ve realized we all face struggles it’s just that our circumstances and perspectives vary. That’s shaped how I connect with my clients. I never judge. I listen deeply, and I create a space where people feel safe to just be. I’ve been through some very dark times in my life and I want people to know that even in those moments it’s possible to find your light again.

My focus now is on promoting the importance of self-care something I believe is essential not optional. So many people give everything to others and leave nothing for themselves. My mission is to help shift that mindset. Through massage and intentional self-care practices I help people reconnect with themselves, restore balance and feel truly seen and supported.

This work is deeply personal for me. It’s about healing, resilience, and reminding others of their worth. If I can help even one person feel a little lighter, more grounded, or more hopeful that means everything.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh man, where do I even start? I’d definitely kick things off with a trip to the Ft. Worth stockyards. You get the real cowboy experience, live music, and of course a little shopping in those rustic western boutiques. I feel like It’s a must-see! And after working up an appetite, we’d head over to Hard 8 BBQ—hands down one of my favorite spots for real TX BBQ. You can smell the smoke before you even park the car!

From there, Maybe hit up the Dallas Arboretum it’s a very peaceful place that I personally love. I’m all about self-care and grounding, and a nature spot is perfect for that. Maybe even stop at La La Land Kind Café for some good coffee, good energy and always good people.

I’d also take them to a sound bath or breathwork session at a local wellness space—because I believe in mixing in some healing and soul connection while having fun. I know so many great sound healers in DFw.

Maybe take a road trip to Austin just for the adventure and the vibe.

Lastly, I’d introduce them to someone who’s been such a big part of my personal journey – Brittney Carmichael. She’s one of the most inspiring and grounded people I know and I always walk away from time with her feeling more aligned and uplifted.

So yeah—DFW has so much to offer. From the Stockyards to Deep Ellum, art to healing spaces, and everything in between. I’d want my friend to experience the full range—fun, food, culture and connection!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Besides myself because I’ve had to show up and push through every challenge I want to dedicate this shoutout to two of the most important people in my life- my son, Landon, and my fiancé, Venisi “Cocomo”.

Landon is my driving force the reason I strive to be better every day. His presence keeps me grounded and focused. And Cocomo your unwavering support, love and belief in me has been my anchor. You’ve lifted me during the hard times and celebrated with me in the good ones.

Without your love, inspiration and constant encouragement I wouldn’t be where I am today.
