We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Nicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I no longer try to balance everything. When you try to balance things, it becomes stressful. I put everything in rotation. I pick up things and put them down.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Becoming Ashley Nicole has been about embracing my freedom. Growing up we are conditioned to see things the way other people have created them. Starting my own business allowed me to make my own way and do things that made sense for my business. I still apply a lot of the process that it takes to operate a business but the artistry and visuals are all left up to my mood and season I am in. Photography saved my mind. Mentally I was trapped and had no way to escape corporate America, but when I discovered the camera, I saw a way out and the past 8 years are what helps me know that it is never too late to become something new.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have a couple of clients in Maryland. I really enjoyed the area and the arts district they have created. I took a friend with me and we had a great time exploring all they had to offer.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mentor has always given me the love and tools to keep my business going. Laquetta Shaw
