We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Blocker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have such a passion for organizing and helping others create a space that they not only love but that functions well in their day to day lives. Organizing started as a hobby and soon turned into something that I could share with others to bring joy and structure to their homes like I was able to bring to my own. I quickly realized that organizing for others was my passion and I have worked hard to make this passion a career every since. I love creating an environment that others can not only enjoy when I’m done, but they can easily maintain long after I have completed their project. I specialize in organizing everything from pantries, closets, bathrooms, and garages. In addition to organizing, I recently discovered that I really enjoy flipping old furniture and making it shiny and new. This has been something I have been able to provide to my clients as another layer of my business!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Ashley Anne Decor and Organizing, I specialize in organizing any space in your home or work space. As of right now I am a one man show, but I do hope to be able to transition to need a team sooner than later. I got started by friends wanting me to organize their closets or pantries for them because of the way my home is organized. From there I received referrals and the business just sort of took off from there! I am currently working on getting a website together but for now I have Facebook and Instagram to showcase my work. I work full time in property management so as of right now I work on my business outside of the normal 40 hours a week, but my goal is to be able to focus on organizing full time in the future!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to The Shacks at Austin Ranch for Happy hour and play time with my dog Bentley! We would definitely have to stop and get some Crumbl Cookies, as well as visit downtown McKinney! Some of my favorite places are The Groovy Coup, Cadillac Pizza, and Landon Winery. We would also spend a day hiking and walking at Oak Point Nature Preserve. If we decided to venture down to Dallas, we would stop at La La Land Cafe for some coffee, and we would grab some brunch at XOXO Dining Room. Last we would definitely enjoy a fun day at Fortuna Winery in Aubrey!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents for always encouraging me to follow my dreams and never give up and of course my amazing clients who make this possible!
