We had the good fortune of connecting with Aron Allana and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aron, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Providing quality care at a reasonable cost can be very difficult. Our philosophy is centered around providing high quality care at affordable prices to all parents. Cambridge Academy provides thousands of dollars in financial assistance to help our parents afford care in the form of Scholarships. In communities such as ours, quality care that caters to a child’s intellectual growth as well as the child is hard to come by.
We strive to do good and take care of the children in our communities, trusting that our communities will support and allow us to keep our doors open for families of any economic background.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started this business as a senior at Texas Tech University. I had always grown up around DeSoto and the south Dallas area and knew that I wanted to give back to the community. At first I wanted to be a doctor in the south Dallas area, However, I noticed that there was a greater need for leadership in the childcare community. As a man I faced a lot of challenges working in a female dominated field. It was different as I had never worked with so many intelligent women at the same time. Additionally, our business grew quickly, and our growing pains were significant. Through it all I learned that the biggest quality a person can have is a sense of patience in people. Patience is key when running a business, but more so when dealing with children. In a community where caregivers of children are constantly applying negative labels on the children, we wanted Cambridge to go against the grain. We preach patience to our staff and prioritize training and evaluation in the classroom. We felt that by constantly giving teachers support, guidance, and training we could improve the quality of care overall.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to go to Lifetime to workout, go to movement to rock climb, go to YAYA Ramen to enjoy a bowl of ramen, and AMC to go to the movies. I also love the views at the Tower Club. Movement is one of my favorite places to go to boulder.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Ms. Demeitra Powell the Owner of Kidz N Heart. My mom and dad and my family, and my best friend Noah. I would also like to thank my amazing staff, my directors and my absolutely amazing teachers.
