We had the good fortune of connecting with Antonio Mondragón and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antonio, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
The biggest impact I feel I’ve had on my kids would be that without perseverance you’ll never know your full potential. You can’t get to the top without stumbling and falling first. Alongside, teaching them responsibilities and the importance of having a good work ethic.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are a family ran business. Our goal is to serve delicious and authentic Mexican food within the DFW metroplex. One of the main things that sets us apart from others is that we are a scratch kitchen. Our goal is to provide our customers with a meal that reminds them of home! We are currently working on a couple of projects, 1 of them being partnering with different venues to offer our catering services for future events. I am so proud of how far Sazón Mondragón has come, It took a lot of time, effort and dedication. We’ve experience long nights, early mornings, and have even canceled plans to get to where we are now. The power of social media and word of mouth is astonishing to see how quick we became recognized and recommended. We most certainly are not done yet, but I can’t wait to share everything we have planned with all of you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d definitely have to stop by at Esperanza’s on Main Street for breakfast and enjoy they delicious chilaquiles verdes along with a yummy concha with a coffee. A walk around Sundance square would definitely be on the itinerary to walk off all of the food we ate. Followed by a trip to the water gardens & Fort Worth zoo!

We’ll enjoy lunch at Boomerjacks for a nice cold one and one of their awesome burgers!

We’ll spend the evening go karting and visiting the historic stockyards.

Dinner would be at Riscky’s Steakhouse. & we’d end the night by enjoying some drinks and games at Second Rodeo Brewing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d have to give a shout-out to Matthew Rodriguez who created out customized shirts. He is such a great person to work with and brings your vision to life!
