We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Medaglia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Giving up on us in any domain of our life is never even a choice, so it’s easy to keep going. While the long process of growth at times becomes frustrating and tests patience, giving up is never an option. Matt and I started our brand Senior year of H.S as young 17 year-olds. Entering the industry with nothing but an idea.

No background knowledge in business, fashion, marketing, or where to even start. We simply had an idea, made an Instagram, and learned through experience. Almost 6 years later, we remain trucking forward and climbing our way upward. Giving up in our minds is always the easier thing to do, staying consistent is much more difficult to do, and we like to consider ourselves fans of a challenge. Our mindset in the driver’s seat was always the thought that the moment after someone quits could have been the breakthrough they were waiting for. Believing this as a truth is one of the main mindsets and core values that have allowed us the only option to always keep going.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets BAD PRODUCT aside from all others is our willingness to embrace being different. When individuals first hear of our brand or see our merch the reaction is usually the same… “Bad Pro- Duct?” Which opens the door to allow a more personable brand description. This world is full of so much uniqueness. No ONE person is the same, and never will be. Through our brand we recognize this life truth, however embrace this truth through clothing and accessories. Wearing Bad Product means YOU accept and embrace what makes YOU unique to this world. While different, we all have a unique gift to offer the world and all others that someone cannot.

Getting here was not easy and requires ample patience we didn’t know we could reach. From investing thousands of personal dollars, learning the industry as we go, and building connections all on our own, the process at times can feel never ending. Truthfully, it never will end because there is always room to grow even further and make more impacts than we already have. Overcoming all of the challenges were thanks to the support between Matt and I. Never losing sight of our vision, even when things weren’t going our way.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are definitely a lot of individuals and experiences throughout our journey we can express gratitude for the ongoing success of our brand. However, the biggest impact on our growth and dedication to the brand are the individuals (Family, Friends, Colleagues, Etc.) who supported our vision for the sole purpose of kindness and loyalty. We recognize it is difficult to support a vision that isn’t directly yours, however on our 5-year journey and counting there are numerous individuals from ALL over who have enhanced the awareness of our brand simply due to the fact of individualized support. Recognizing those individuals who not only now support the BRAND but Matt and myself as INDIVIDUALS. Thank you and We LOVE YOU!
