We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Ontiveros and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It’s the hardest thing in the world ! I have a love hate relationship with starting your own business, first because of the importance of keeping up with it and being consistent while you’re raising a toddler and currently pregnant with one , but it doesn’t stop me. I think I fight harder for my business because of my kids and their future. I grew up being unfortunate , my mom couldn’t give us everything but I watched her try so hard and for that I appreciate her the importance of not quitting. She pushed through life raising 5 children on her own, from job to job and endless tears I still managed to eat in the end of the day even if it was the same thing over and over again I still was grateful and understood by the age of 7. I grew up extremely quick and it motivated me to never give up on a dream you had since you were in middle school. The importance of starting your own business is not only will it grow over time , that business wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t pushed the was I was pushed .

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I like to say my business is different because I believe in partnership and support. I made my business all about growing others and giving them a chance on success and not always working for someone. I make sure my girls are treated differently and a lot of love , which I know makes them love their job even more. Some of my girls have kids so I always tried to make it work for them , like making sure they leave before a time to get there kiddos or even keeping them busy on weekends since that’s when we work the most !

Was it easy? Absolutely not ! But I like yo say that my business grew in a matter of a year because I was consistent with it , and yes I did lose a few friendships and family time with my close family because I was so busy . I’m this industry we work on weekend so I lost a lot of family time .

The hardest thing about having a baby and no job and finding a job that can work for me that I can still take care of my baby all the time . And we’ll that doesn’t exist. So I made it my mission to be able to have my own schedule so I can watch my little one & so far he is never away from me. My motivation is my baby boy and his future I strive to make better then anything in the world!
I overcame everything because of him he was the reason I didn’t quit when I wanted to, I wanted to quit so bad ! But I couldn’t when All my baby boy knew is that I’m his momma and I had to provide for him somehow. The lesson I learned in this life , industry and world? Always stay humble , always never wish anything bad on someone, women should always support other women and especially in a male dominated country, having a business as a woman always come to shock to people especially in the Hispanic community. Where it’s normal to be dominated by men .

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spots will always be Sundance square, because that’s where I have been taking my little boy when he was just 1 month old , he loves going to the water gardens and watch the musicians play music while he dances his little feet away .

I would like to start with my best friend of many years who told me when we were in middle school not to give up ! At the time my idea sounded so dumb because it was literally makeup & hair .

But my best friend didn’t she saw I had potential in my future and has been there every milestone, the endless love and support from her was all I needed to take it seriously.

I would also like to thank all the ladies I met throughout the years who support my business and I support theirs.

Gorgeous strong , independent woman who wanted to see others women succeed. Every story leads up to success when you tell your self you are going to be successful. I manifested that when I was in 7th grade .
