We had the good fortune of connecting with Angie Marshall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angie, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I named my Ranch, Ranch 22 for the 22 veterans who die everyday by suicide. I served in the Army for 8 years and have lost a lot of amazing friends to suicide. Naming my facility Ranch 22 reminds me to live everyday to the fullest for them, if I fail I don’t only fail for myself and my family but also for the ones I’m living for.

What should our readers know about your business?
I own a large horse facility just south of Fort Worth Texas. We are home to over 40 horses. I also have a nonprofit Veteran Mustang Mission. The Veteran Mustang Mission (VMM) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the lives of American Veterans as well as American mustangs. Our mission is to partner untouched mustangs with struggling veterans providing a unique hands-on approach to therapy.  The process of gentling a mustang provides the veteran an opportunity to discover alternative ways to resolve conflict, control anger, form healthy boundaries, alleviate anxiety, and build confidence. Throughout this process our mustangs will teach our veterans how to be present and true to oneself.  Our vision is to build a cohesive relationship between veteran and mustang, allowing barriers to break, communication to improve, and trust to grow.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My best friend is actually moving here from California this month and I absolutely can not wait to take her to the stockyards. We are going to go and watch a couple rodeos downtown, go get food at joe T Garcia and definitely go to billy bobs! There is so much to do in Fort Worth, you truly can’t get sick of this place!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and the Army have been the reasons for my success and where I am today. If I didn’t have such an amazing supporting family I dont know if I would have had the courage to do any of the things I have done in my life. My family was the ones telling me I wouldn’t fail when I first wanted to take a leap and start a ranch when I was second guessing if I would be successful. The Army is the one who payed for my BA in business, I was also able to use my VA loan for my first piece of land that I built into a thriving ranch. Without these two entities i have no idea where I would be today.
