We had the good fortune of connecting with Angie Byrd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angie, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is God. I often say that God speaks to me by 2×4 because I rarely heard the whisper. My journey to owning my own business is a hot mess wrapped in a blessing. God had been speaking to me to venture out on my own but I was not listening and honestly too afraid. Eventually, he allowed a situation to play out that forced me to ownership. I was afraid and unsure. I committed to doing things different and I began to practice God’s Will. That for me was the single most important factor to my success. I began to educate myself and surround myself by people committed to helping people. I began my journey of success and created the brand of Christian Counseling. My group Full Hearts Counseling is devoted to loving and caring for all kinds of people with a variety of problems. I believe that God shows our clients our door. My brand is about caring and loving people and giving hope. We believe that all pain ends we just have to hold on. God is my success and love is my brand.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a Christian therapy group called Full Hearts Counseling. Our motto is H.O.P.E. Hold on Pain Ends. I saw this one day on a site and loved it so much I adopted it. My group is primarily focused on trauma and the crippling effects it can have on us. We stand out because we do add the Christian component. We take the belief that all people need hope to heal and that we need to meet them where they are in their pain and suffering, on their journey, and with their healing. We utilize that to build a trusting relationship so they can find the answers in themselves to bring about peace in their life. It was not easy to adopt this, in fact, I was scared. I heard all the negative voices in my life telling me that this was not going to succeed. This caused me to look at my beliefs and my goals and refocus the meaning of success. My success is not based on how many clients we have, or how much money I make. My success is based on how many people can we impact positively and create strong trusting relationships with.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being nestled in between DFW, we are going to busy. I would most likely start at Grapevine Lake. We would have a picnic or a walk around the lake and take in the scenery. We would do lunch at Kuby’s Sausage House and then dinner would have to be Perry’s Steak House. We would take a drive around Dallas and Fort Worth night life. We would also head to Fredricksburg and take in all of the sights around that area as well. Honestly, we would need several weeks trips to see all of the things that are great about Texas.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Christian Business Nurturing group has given me the strength and support to come out of my fear and be myself. I also give lots of support to the women of WWWOW (Women Who Wined down On Wednesdays) they have introduced me to the DFW Business Babes for my branding strategies. My besties Karen Burnell and Cindy Jones. My family who encouraged me the entire way. Johnny Byrd, Bre’Ana Byrd, Jachin Byrd, Caeden Byrd, and Janice Sorrels.
