We had the good fortune of connecting with Angelica Caudillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angelica, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
One of the most common questions I get is “So do you make the candle yourself?”Candle making is like a huge science experiment. Unless you’re in it, you don’t know how much work goes into identifying the right wax, wick and fragrance ratio. And once you do figure it out, you can expect to spend hours just pouring candles.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
For my business what sets us apart is our ingredients in our candle. I use a Coco Apricot Wax with an FSC-certified wooden wick. Everything from the candle jar to the packaging is either reusable, recyclable or biodegradable.

It’s definitely been a challenging journey. I needed to learn to balance my full time job, my personal life(I have two daughters and a bonus child so all that in itself it a lot) and cande making. But it’s part of the process, nothing comes easy and you eventually figure your way through it.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I honestly couldn’t have done this out my boyfriend Jorge, he supports me 110%, he helps me name the candles, to sometimes even pouring them. Since I’ve started my business my friends and family also are great supporters. They come out to my events, they are always recommending my business to others and much more! I’m grateful to have such people in my life. Thank you and I love y’all. ❤️
