We had the good fortune of connecting with Angelia Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angelia, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I’m a trailblazer for Black Women in my line of work. I am showing and proving to women that look just like me that they can achieve high levels of success and that if they work hard and help others achieve success as well then they too will have a seat at “thee” table.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Currently, I’m most known for my work as an Author and Sexual Health Promoter. My autobiography tells the story of a sex abuse survivor who turns her trauma into triumph with hopes of empowering other women that have suffered the same fate or something similar. I’m living proof that our past does not have to define us and in fact we can use our past as a vehicle to impact the world in ways one may never have imagined. Many times survivors have allowed what happened to them to either paralyze them sexually, bring about shame, low self esteem or rebellion. I have taken on the role of a Certified Sexual Health Promoter in order to educate women about their bodies and give them permission to own their pleasure and sexuality. There has been nothing more liberating & fulfilling then to help another woman take back her power. Helping others comes naturally to me and so that part is easy. The hard part about what I do and have accomplished is not being able to take everyone where I have gone and where I am going. I work with women only and to want success and healing for someone more then they want it for themselves can be daunting at times. What I have learned along the way is how to not take on other peoples problems as my own. This keeps me mentally fit and excited to help the next group of women. My mantra is “The more people you help to become successful, the more successful YOU will become.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Aaahh! I just showed some of my girls from the Reality Show I’m Executive Producing a really good time here in the Dallas Fort Worth area. I took them to one of my favorite Mexican Spots, Mi Cocina. I also love Nick & Sams. For fun we went pole dancing at Power Bar Fitness and Aerial Yoga at the Sunshine Yoga Shack both in Arlington. In this era of Covid I have not been too many places lately and for those I have, I have rented them out for private sessions just to keep everyone as safe as possible.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shout out my business mentor, Chris Cicchinelli, President & CEO of Pure Romance along with my brother Hakim Taylor who has always supported my vision for designing my life the way I wanted to.
