We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Eddy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
The habits that helped me achieve success throughout my career as a Personal Stylist are Taking Action, Positive Attitude, Networking and Organization. Let me tell you why I think these habits are important to me and helped me succeed in my career.

Taking Action is a huge step in anyone’s plan to success. Setting my priorities and goals out helps me achieve the next level in my career. Without taking action a plan is nothing more than potential. Taking the risk and acting quickly helps you learn more and achieve better results as far as “timeline” is concerned. I had to put in the work and creativity to become a successful Artist. Making vision boards and “To-do List” are my go to when I am wanting to reach a new goal. Followed by continuing education in whatever service I am adding to my business profile.

Positive Attitude is a huge attribute to my success. It keeps me determined and has only lead me to work with other successful Artist and Entrepreneurs. Praying and manifesting is how I keep a positive outlook on my career and life style. Never giving up and believing in myself is how I got to where I am today in my success journey.

Networking is a great habit to come after Positive Attitude because it makes collaboration and teaming up with other successful people easy. Networking with other Artist that has the same drive and passion as I do, helped me achieve more success. I believe social media and making content of my work is the best way to network in todays date. I learned it is hard to run a business alone and having a team is the best way to get to the next level.

Organization is last on my list but it is my number one habit that has helped me be successful in anything I do. Organizing my time and schedule is how I keep a good name for myself. Word of mouth is one of my biggest networking secrets used to grow my clientele so it is important to have good repartition. The more time I devote to being successful, the more I achieve and learn. Staying accountable and highly disabled is how i stay organized.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art work is fashion and glam. The art I create is worn on the body. I also can visually create the perfect image for filming or capturing special moments. I specialize in creating the full look. I can visually set up the scene, model’s and their over all glam look from head to toe. Some examples of my work are photoshoots, filming production, content creation, stage appearances and personal styling.

What sets me apart from other artists
Is the fact I can create the hair , make-up , outfit and over all look for any occasion or gig. I do a lot of event styling. These looks require the person to look great from every angle. I give my clientele the confidence to feel and look amazing. I can provide hair, make-up and help match the look to the occasion. I can create any look for filming purposes , performance purposes , brides, models or any gig that is requiring a specific style or look. Whatever the job title is asking for I can provide and achieve the look.

The special bonus to my services is that I go to my clients. I will travel to them and help them create their look. I will travel on set or to the desire location. It doesn’t always have to be a big production or special occasion to get me to come to you. I will travel to my clients house or hotel on a Tuesday to get them ready for whatever they have planned for the day. This is how I became a Personal Stylist. Labeling as a Personal stylist gives me the opportunity to collaborate with other beauty brands. Freelancing me into all kinds of work. I would say being a personal stylist for the DFW area was easy after I made a name for myself. This area has the money to look good and provides the work I need to continue branding myself and building my resume. Dallas women love to look good and wear the fashion. I love it. Creating in this area is enjoyable and makes my job easy.

I would have to say my favorite things to create a look for would be for photo shoots or wedding glam. I’m well known for wedding glam. I’m able to create special occasions hair and make-up for the bride and bridal party. Photos shoots are one of my favorites because it allows me to create the over all look and make sure we get the shot. Say I need to create a 60’s look for a photo shoot….. I’m your girl. Say you need to film some content and need to mix up the looks and set up the scene….. I’m your personal stylist.

I would say the hardest obstacles would be getting people to pay me for what I’m worth. Some people believe that giving artist a shout out or using their followers as payment is good enough. It’s not ….. we should be paid for our work just like they are. Don’t chase your money. Believe in yourself. That’s my biggest accomplishment. Be kind to others and break the cycle.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would have to say my favorite places to take my friends out in Dallas would be the gay district or Deep Ellum. Deep Ellum is always poppin with musicians and artists in town for the best entertainment.

Shopping in Dallas is top tier. Highland Park and North Park Mall is the best areas to shop in.

The food in this area and the surrounding suburbs is endless for great food and drinks. I’m a girl that is happy with the food trucks downtown or hitting up uptown for more of an upscale restaurant experience. I enjoy going to the Frisco Star area for some innocent fun and good vibes. Honestly there really isn’t a place in the DFW area that you can’t find your vibe. It’s very diverse and culturally appropriated.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have so many shoutouts. I would love to start with saying, “Thank You” Voyage Dallas for publishing my story and supporting local artists.

I want to give a warming shoutout to all the artists I have created iconic looks with!!!

Most importantly my loyal clientele, my new clientele, mobile/app companies I currently work with, anyone who has published my work or hired me for photoshoots and event styling such as ….fashion shows, red carpet, gala’s, black tie events, weddings and special occasions. The photographer’s that capture my work, the product lines I represent , the model’s that let me create their look and wear my styles, production companies and Influencers that have tagged me or gave me credit on my art work. Okay I swear I am almost done.
Huge shoutout to the content creators and artists that introduce me to the new trends and keep me up-to-date with the fashion!

If it wasn’t for these people and collaboration then I would not be able to continuously grow and master my passion. It’s because of you all I can take care of my family.

I appreciate the business and I’m very grateful . The people that support me are the reason I enjoy my job daily and have helped me be successful in building my name and career.

I would like to personally thank everyone that has supported me through my career this far.
