We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Fofanah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my business not just for the empowerment of women , but also for advocating great health, encouraging better health choices, which also attributes to feeling good about yourself while looking good at the same time. As someone who grew up in the DFW metroplex, I’ve always been committed to the fitness world and also surrounded with a great deal of positive fitness-minded individuals., which inspired me to launch the Dreafit apparel line that features comfortable workout clothings, waist trainers and resistance bands for women. My goal is to make women feel confident in my apparel while trying to achieve their fitness goals.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Dreafit brand is all about women’s empowerment and also encouraging women to live a healthy lifestyle. I believe what sets my merchandise apart from others are that we have a non-see through/ stretchy fabric active wear sets that gives you a coke bottle frame. Moreover, a double compressor waist trainer to trim your waist and a non-slip fabric resistance band that helps for Glutes activation. And lastly, the comfortable hoodies and T-shirts. I am most proud of myself, granted, I’ve been faced with a lot of obstacles and not only being a single mother but I am still pushing through all the odds, while turning my dreams into reality. It hasn’t always been an easy journey. I’ve had days when I felt like giving up, however, my faith in God kept me going. Looking back from where I started and where I’m at now in life definitely shows me that God’s favor is upon me. Some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way is to always put God in the center of everything I do, stay consistent, have patience, and most importantly, never give up. Starting your own business is not an easy task but always remember the reason why you started. I want the world to embrace and support my brand. Ultimately, God’s Willing, It will one day become a multinational corporation.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting I’ll definitely hit the gym with her for a good workout session. take her to downtown Dallas to go sightseeing. Last but not least I’ll take her to the Dallas arboretum and a nice upscale restaurant for example, XOXO Dinning for a girls night out.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shout-out & praises to God, the Most High for always being there for me and bestowing His mercies upon me. Also, to my amazing son, for being my motivation, my family, my boyfriend and also my friends for always supporting me. Lastly, I’d like to give a special shout-out to my best friend; Taunya. Thank You for always helping me run my business page and making sure I’m on track.
