We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Epperson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite quote is “it is never too late to be what you might have been,” by George Eliot. This quote has meant so much to me throughout the years. It has been an inspiration to pivot. It has been a source of encouragement to continue to invest in myself. As I am looking forward to celebrating a landmark birthday this year, this quote has an even deeper meaning for me. I used to think that whatever career path you chose you should stick it out. I think that was just the way it used to be for many of us. We have been told that we should look a certain way and act our age. Also, you are too busy to go back to school, to start a business, too old to get married, too old to start a family and too late to change careers.
This quote reminds me that the person we dream of becoming is within reach. We must keep our heads up and keep looking forward. Let’s not give the naysayers any power! Let’s not doubt ourselves!
This quote reminds me that life is so precious and short. It’s a reminder that change is a good thing. If we aren’t changing, we aren’t growing. Whatever your dreams are, I hope that this quote encourages you too. If you have always wanted to go back to school, do it! If you have always wanted to learn to crochet, do it! If you have always wanted to (fill in the blank), do it!
Whatever your dreams are, I am here to tell you that “it is never too late to be what you might have been”!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My love for jewelry began with the first pair of earrings I received from my grandmother as a gift. I started Cowtown Bling N Things during the pandemic as a way of connecting with people. At first, it was a jewelry boutique which has now expanded to a women’s boutique.

In 2021, I took a leap of faith and opened up shop in NRH at The Painted Tree. In 2023, a second shop was added in Mansfield. This summer a third shop will be added in Grapevine. I love being part of The Painted Tree family of boutiques! Because they do the “heavy lifting”, I am able to continue to homeschool my children.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Here’s a Shoutout to my grandmother! It all began when I fell in love with the first pair of earrings I received from my grandmother as a gift. Yes, the jewelry was beautiful and grandma had a matching “adult-sized” pair that made me feel so connected to her. However, what made it more special was the love and sacrifice that went with it. You see, my grandmother was widowed twice. She was pregnant with my mother and was only 40 years old when she lost her second husband. She never remarried after that. The dedication, commitment, and hard work of this amazing single mother became an inspiration for me; and that pair of earrings will always remind me of her. It was during the pandemic when I started Cowtown Bling N Things. It was my way of connecting with people. Most importantly, it was an avenue to pass on what my grandmother inspired me with. She instilled in me the importance of giving back. Together we can make a difference in our communities! Cowtown Bling N Things strives to make a positive impact in our communities by partnering with local nonprofits. Giving locally allows us to have an opportunity to see first hand the difference our donations make in our communities.
