We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Snearl and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I own a small clothing brand that features my handpainted designs on vegan leather accessories and my digital designs on hoodies and t-shirts. Adding this part as a nail tech allowed me to expand on what I already do artistically, but on a different canvas! I’ve always wanted to open my own studio or shop and now I am looking to open a dual space for both of my artistic dreams.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art journey is what I always call my “happy little accident”. I’ve been a working professional since I graduated college in 2015 and it wasn’t until I discovered my passion for painting to help me mentally that my business was born. So many challenges came with this discovery – I quit jobs just to do what I love, moved into my art studio with no real plans, juggled multiple side hustles and finally landed on what I believe will set me apart from others – combining my art with all wearability! Clothing, accessories, and nails will allow me to set people’s inner artist free.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh man, this one is tough! I am new to the city myself, but I absolutely love the Bishop Arts District in Dallas. It just has such a funky, artistic vibe, and supporting all of the small businesses and restaurants is so fulfilling. I myself, live in downtown Fort Worth, so we’d just have to end our trip by grabbing margaritas on Magnolia Ave and taking a nice relaxing walk to the Fort Worth water gardens to enjoy the sights!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My entire family and my lovely fiancé have all supported me so much within this last year! Picking up and moving from Chicago to Dallas opened so many opportunities for me in business. They all rolled up their sleeves to help me get moved, and settled and continue to support me in each new endeavor.
