Meet Alleah Moore | Digital Creator and Serial Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alleah Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alleah, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
My business idea was generated from my own personal style. I looked at my wardrobe one day and saw that most of my pieces were dark colors or true black. I realized that having black as a staple color can be worn in so many ways. Sometimes people have difficulty styling the color black so I am catering to an audince who wants their luxury, black pieces to fit any style.

When developing a business idea, before you consider turing your hobby into a profession, there are a few things someone has to consider. First, is the hobby for you or is the hobby to provide help or solve a problem for others? Second, is the hobby worth the extra time you need to invest right now? And third, is the hobby something you will enjoy doing for no initial return on investment? All of these questions helped me narrow down whether or not the idea would turn into a successful business venture. A main rule of thumb I would suggest to anyone is to ask yourself, will this service or product clearly help a targeted audience and will that product or service be sustainable to that audience.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
This upcoming collection for EVERYTHING BLK is going to cater to an audience that needs comfort, longevity and sleek style in their wardrobe. I wanted to make sure that although I am qualifying these pieces as “Luxury”, I wanted to ensure my audience experienced that tier of quality with minimal effort. Some pieces will include the EVERYTHING BLK logo on them which I am extremely proud of. And other pieces will be limited edition “Statement” pieces for any wardrobe.

Apart from selecting the styles of the pieces in this collection, I’m most excited about the digital content creation I will be bringing to life. Some designers and brand owners chose to have other people model their pieces but I have chosen to model my brand solo. This will allow me to really delve deep into the aesthetic and vibe I want to create for the EVERYTHING BLK brand. It’s nerve wrecking to an extent but I know I can represent my brand exceptionally well.

I entered this level of professionalism through trial and error. I didn’t consider myself a digital content creator before, but now that I reflect on all of the cameras I’ve had and pictures/videos I’ve taken, the only missing puzzle piece was figuring out the production and editing tasks. Now that I feel I’ve reached a happy medium level between Intermediate and Expert in these areas, I am confident in the work that I put out into the world to see, feel, hear and experience altogether.

My vision for EVERYTHING BLK is that the audience I am catering my attention to will absorb the feeling and look of quality, black luxury items and live as boldly as the color allows- with minor effort and maximum class.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in Dallas, there is ALWAYS something to do. From the art park in Trinity Groves, to the live Urban trivia nights hosted in Legacy West, or reaching the famous Giant Eyeball in the heart of Downtown, you will truly feel like its an endless excursion! I love the brunch spots on the weekends like Biscuits or Kitchen and Kocktails. Since I’m vegan, my favorite restaurants to order range from Shoals, D’Vegan, and True Food Kitchen. Not only is the food immaculate, but on the sports side seeing the Dallas Mavericks play at the American Airlines Arena, is an experience you’ll never forget! I got a chance to take a lot of free goodies home and the fans were awesome!

For a more relaxing aspect, the DFW area has so many spas, wellness centers, and more that cater to the hardworking parents and business owners of Texas. Whether you have a 9-5 or act as an entrepreneur, these relaxing insitutions will put all stresses at ease. Plenty of great southern hospitality and service is impeccable! Most of these places even have great deals on Groupon so there’s no excuse to not treating yourself to something enjoyable and well earned!

Texas in general has so many naturally formed attractions from waterfalls, to creeks and hiking paths that you can find yourself outdoors exploring quite often. Whether it’s for a family outing or taking professional grade photographs, you’re likely to see beautiful art work, architecture and variety of plants everywhere.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a special acknowledgement to my close friends and family who always gave a listening ear to all of my ideas and provided quality feedback/constructive criticism in the development stages of EVERYTHING BLK. Quite literally, they supported me in ways I can’t explain and for that I am forever grateful. Also, I would like to acknowledge all of the previous positions I held in the corporate world. Without the experience and and knowledge of various industries I have gained, I would not be in the position to take large risks with little to no fear that I am now.
