We had the good fortune of connecting with Alicia Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alicia Rodriguez, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I am Master in Marketing and Innovation. Due to my profession, I developed all kinds of campaigns and projects for companies inside and outside the United States, at the same time that I specialized in innovation programs for various renowned organizations and brands. During the development of programs aimed at the entrepreneurship sector, I realized that entrepreneurs are very clear about what they want to achieve, but not how they know how to implement their idea, ignoring issues as important as business management.
This is how ALICIA IN BUSINESS was born, a business school that provides the necessary tools, training, consulting and mentoring to help people have profitable and scalable businesses.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our mission is twofold: we believe that by being committed to educating and developing leaders, we contribute to the growth of companies that add value to society in general. How do we do it? Generating shared knowledge, creating and disseminating innovative strategies, concepts and tools that promote the understanding and practice of business management.
Our path has been full of learning. From the moment we announced the project, various companies, communities, foundations and NGOs have joined us, accompanying us in our growth. Thanks to these organizations, we have trained and helped more than 1,000 entrepreneurs. However, the main challenge is to make them believe in themselves, to show them that they are capable of achieving their goals and that, with dedication and focus, they can grow their business until it becomes the great company they always dreamed of.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take her on a tour of the places I enjoy the most, I would start with going to the beach or a boat ride on a beautiful lake, then we would go eat sushi, attend a concert and finally visit the museum of contemporary art because it is a great place to open your mind to other visions and learn new things.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Much of my success as a businesswoman is mainly due to the teachings of my parents who always advocated giving me a quality education along with the rest of my family. In this process I have also had the unconditional love and support of my husband who inspires me every day and motivates me to be better. There are many books, authors and mentors that have guided me along the way, but especially my growth has been linked to that of all the people who have trusted me and have put the future of their businesses in my hands, to them my deepest. Thank you for your trust and constant learning.
