We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Milner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued a non traditional role as a Registered Nurse Aesthetic Injector because I’ve always been passionate about both helping others and the world of beauty and aesthetics. My journey into this field is deeply personal, as I struggled with an autoimmune disease from the age of 10, which caused me to lose my body hair. This experience had a significant impact on my self-esteem, and I spent years visiting dermatologists and searching for solutions during my teenage years.

As I entered nursing school, I discovered the aesthetic industry, and it felt like the perfect blend of my passion for healthcare and beauty. Having personally experienced the desire to enhance my appearance and confidence, I knew that this was the right career for me. It’s incredibly rewarding to now be in a role where I can help others feel their best, both inside and out, and build their confidence through aesthetic treatments. At my office, we offer injectables, like botox and fillers, IV hydration and wellness programs, and advanced skincare treatments. I’m truly excited to be a part of an industry that empowers people to look and feel their best.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I graduated with my nursing degree from the University of Alabama in 2019 and began my career as a registered nurse in the NICU in Atlanta, GA. After a couple of years, I moved to Dallas as a travel NICU nurse. My time in the NICU was incredibly rewarding, as it helped shape my foundational nursing skills, including critical thinking, time management, patient care, and hands-on experience in critical care. However, I always felt a deep passion for aesthetics, a field I was drawn to from my own personal experiences growing up.

While completing travel nursing assignments in the NICU, I made the decision to invest in myself by saving money to pursue aesthetics courses and training in injectables. I felt a strong sense of purpose as God led me into making this decision, knowing that this is where I was meant to be—helping people in a new and meaningful way.

I have been the Dallas injector at Charette Cosmetics since January of 2023, and I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to work in the aesthetics field. It was not easy leaving the bedside, and it is truly hard entering the field of aesthetics as a nurse, and I am truly grateful and blessed. I love what I do, and I feel fulfilled every day knowing I am able to help others in a meaningful way. It truly is a calling and I am grateful to God for allowing me to work in a field that I love and can also be used by Him to encourage and uplift others. I would not be here today without God’s favor and guidance.

I specialize in natural facial balancing, and minimalist injectables. I emphasize on creating a natural result for all of my clients; results that enhance someone’s natural beauty, not taking away from it. I think nowadays in the aesthetic world, a lot of other injectors think bigger is better, but it’s not always the case. It takes skill and an artistic eye to see where you can create balance and provide a seamless, refreshed result. All of my work is on my instagram page @lexxinjects, where you can see beautiful, natural transformations.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love a nice wine and dine, so some of my favorites are Felix culpa, Komodo, Paparazzi, RH, Carbone, and Kitchen and cocktails. Some of my favorite spots in the city are Plano Legacy West, and Frisco. I love Pilates at Session and Carries. I absolutely love a cute speakeasy, like Regines, Gingers, or Izkina. Some of my faves for coffee are Lala Land, 151 coffee, and Merit coffee. There’s always something new to explore, which is what I love about Dallas!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the incredible team at Charette Cosmetics, our management team, and owner Paul Charette, for their unwavering support and commitment to my further training and professional growth as an injector. A special thank you to my mentor, Helen Zhang, our lead injector in Atlanta, who has generously dedicated her time from the very beginning of my injector career to guide me in mastering the art of injectables. Her mentorship has been invaluable since day one. I am also deeply appreciative of my colleague and aesthetician, Shine, for her continued collaboration and dedication as we work together to enhance the beauty of the amazing women and men of Dallas!
