We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexander Machado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexander, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Man, you know, what really makes me happy are the little and simple things. I dream of being rich one day, but I also know that money won’t bring me true happiness. Not too long ago, I had a conversation with a friend and I told him, “If I die tomorrow, I’d die happy.” I love my family — I have amazing parents. I love my friends too; they’re good people who inspire me to become a better person every single day. I genuinely love the people around me, and I feel blessed and proud to be surrounded by such wonderful souls. That’s what truly makes me happy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It wasn’t easy — and that’s what makes it beautiful. The struggles, the tough times, the mistakes — they make you appreciate it even more. I had to go through a lot of tough times — too many — to truly learn from them. Was it easy? Of course not. But once you face your own mistakes, progress becomes natural.

There’s a phrase I love to say: “Look at your life as if it were a movie.” Imagine you’re the main character and everything in your life is perfect. Man, that would be a really boring movie. What we really want to see at the cinema is a story where the main character faces challenges, encounters problems — that’s the climax of the story. And, of course, the part we all love the most is seeing the main character overcome those challenges.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in life is that we are born with one mouth and two ears — to speak less and listen more. Learning to truly listen to others has been one of the most important lessons I’ve ever learned.

I hope that when I leave this world, I’ll leave behind something meaningful for the people around me — sharing the knowledge I have so they can become even better than I am.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I went on a week-long trip, I’d start in Colorado — we’d go hiking, kayaking, and hike up a mountain to catch the sunset. After that, we’d probably hit a beach, because, you know, beach life is way more fun (or at least that’s what people say). And the last stop would be my hometown: Valle de Bravo, in the State of Mexico. There’s this small rocky peak with a viewpoint where you can see the whole town — the lake, the houses — and the sunset there is just amazing.

Honestly, it doesn’t really matter where you are if you’re with the right people. But for me, the spots I love the most are calm and quiet, with incredible views. I just enjoy taking it all in with the people I care about… and yeah, a couple of beers with some tacos makes it even better.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Man, I think I’d like to recognize all the people who have always supported me, even without noticing it — my family, my friends, and everyone around me. Thanks for always being there.
