We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Dry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, what’s your definition for success?
For a long time, I thought success was about achievement — the kind you could post, pitch, or prove. But building The Dry Diaries has completely redefined that for me.

Success, to me, is creating something real. It’s taking an idea that once lived in your notes app and turning it into something that resonates with people. It’s when someone messages me saying an episode shifted their perspective, made them feel seen, or gave them the confidence to keep going — that’s success.

It’s also deeply personal. Success is waking up with clarity and going to bed with peace. It’s trusting my gut, sharing others stories, giving others a voice, and staying in alignment — even when no one’s clapping. I used to think I needed the world’s validation. Now I just need to feel proud of what I’m building and who I’m becoming.

The Dry Diaries isn’t just a podcast — it’s a reflection of my own evolution. And to me, success is exactly that: evolving, staying honest, and building something that matters.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I like to think of my work as storytelling, but with layers — healing, humor, chaos, clarity, and all the in-between moments we usually edit out. Whether it’s through The Dry Diaries, social strategy, or creative direction, my art is rooted in connection. I want people to feel seen, entertained, and maybe even a little cracked open.

What sets me apart is the blend — I’ve lived a few lives. From a career in professional dance and modeling, to building brands behind the scenes, to launching my own podcast and projects, I’ve seen the industry from every angle. I’m not afraid to pivot, and I lead with gut instinct, creative clarity, and heart. That combination has helped me carve out a space that feels real, not manufactured.

Getting here wasn’t easy. I’ve been underestimated, overworked, burned out, and at times, overlooked. But I’ve also been wildly supported, pushed, and guided by the right people at the right time. The biggest lesson? Your timing is your power. Just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it’s not already yours — it’s just not time.

What I want people to know is this: you don’t have to wait until it’s perfect to start. The Dry Diaries was built from a voice note, a vision, and a lot of trial and error. I’m proud of where it is now, and even more excited about where it’s going.

At the core of everything I create is this belief — your story matters. So I’m here, mic on, healing in real time, and hoping it helps someone else feel a little less alone in theirs.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh, growing up in DFW, it’s hard to choose — especially since I’m not based there full-time anymore and the area keeps evolving. But if my best friend was visiting for the week and I wanted to show them the ultimate Dallas–Fort Worth experience? Here’s how it would go:

Day 1
– Lunch or dinner at Joe T. Garcia’s — classic Fort Worth spot with margaritas and a cute outdoor setup.
– Walk through the Fort Worth Stockyards — historic area with shops, saloons, and live cattle drives.
– Grab a drink at Hotel Drover — their espresso martinis are a go-to.

Day 2
– If it’s in season, catch a Cowboys or TCU football game.
– For events, check out what’s happening at Dickies Arena — concerts, rodeos, etc.
– Dinner at Mi Cocina — chips, queso, and mambos are a must.
– End the night at Billy Bob’s for a concert or late-night drinks.

Day 3
– Morning coffee at La La Land Kind Cafe.
– Walk, shop, or grab lunch in Highland Park Village.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Let’s be real — I didn’t get here alone. Throughout my career, I’ve had some truly impactful people shape my path.

At the center of it all is my faith — it’s what keeps me grounded, focused, and clear, even when the path feels uncertain.

And my family, especially my mom, has been my constant. She’s my biggest hype woman — the first to celebrate every win, support every new idea, and remind me of my strength when I need it most. That kind of love is something I carry into everything I do.

Then there’s my community — the friends who’ve stayed up late helping me brainstorm names and captions, the ones who’ve supported every pivot and version of this journey.

Ron, from my time at TikTok, was one of the first to really take me under his wing. He taught me the ins and outs of marketing, helped me find my voice in the industry, and continues to be a mentor I trust to this day. And my life coach, Nora, is the one who lit the fire under me to actually start The Dry Diaries. She saw the vision before I did and pushed me to finally own it.

And of course, The Dry Diaries audience — you’re not just listeners, you’re my dearests. You’ve shared your stories, your feedback, your love… and this space wouldn’t exist without you.

Lastly, a shoutout to every rejection, delay, and closed door that didn’t make sense at the time. All of it was building something bigger — and I’m thankful for every part of the process.
