We had the good fortune of connecting with Alejandro Chávez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alejandro, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I have always felt that I want to create something new, special. As a pop culture fan I decided to start a story where you can enjoy different eras of movies, fashion and architecture. That’s how DI NOIR O’CLOCK started. Earlier this year (2021), I was studying a course about storytelling for video games at Videogames Academy, a Mexican school, and that’s where my project started.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m happy and proud to be a designer. My family have always supported what I do. I can surely tell you that working on my own comic is the project I am most proud of. Yes, I know it’s not easy to be an entrepreneur, but if you have faith and do all you can to promote and tell the world about your product everything starts working. You have to do what you are passionate about, and you have to be curious, learn all you can about different things. I think that’s what makes my project DI NOIR O’CLOCK so special, because it’s about adventure, friendship, love and taking risks through different movie eras.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Sure! Dallas is a very fun city! Here’s my 5 days itinerary: 1) Reunion Tower: This is the most iconic place in the city. It has been around since 1978, and what makes it special is the Geo-Deck (Observation deck), where you can have amazing views of Dallas and have fun with the interactive museum! The best time to visit is certainly at night, because the neon lights are stunning!
2) Haas Moto Museum: It doesn’t matter if you are a motorcycle fan or not! This museum is unique in the world! Every motorcycle here has its own style, from futuristic to classy, different decades of moto culture. You can easily be here 2 hours, so much to see.
3) Deep Ellum: This place is full of art! If you are into arts or design or not you’re going to love this area. It has a lot of urban art and a famous robot sculpture where you can take pictures for your Instagram! And also you will find cool restaurants and stores.
4) Giant Eyeball: Located in Downtown, this giant sculpture is a must for your Instagram gallery. It’s mind blowing!
5) Dealey Plaza: It’s a special visit, mostly because its historical meaning. As you may know is the location of the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963, so it’s important to go at least once in your life.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well, first of all my family. They have always believed in me, they support me all the time, especially three women: my mom, aunt and my grandmother. My friends are also there for me, like my friend Daniel is like my older brother he always listen to me and I can talk with him about everything. And last but not least, my college National Institute of Fine Arts – School of Design, and Videogames Academy for giving me all the knowledge and abilities to do what I do.
