We had the good fortune of connecting with Alba Azuara and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alba, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Being a single mother, I had to seek out an alternative source of income that would enable me to work flexible hours and express my creativity. I have always had a knack for organizing and embellishing parties, often taking the initiative to arrange and decorate events for my loved ones. With courage and determination, I invested $350, which I could hardly afford, in a Balloon Styling and Party Decoration Course. This was something I had been yearning to do for years but kept holding back due to fear of failure.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Aries’ Balloons and Party Styling is a luxury decor company committed to creating impactful and creative experiences for our clients and their guests. Our team strives to exceed expectations by working with our clients to make their events unforgettable and forge lasting memories.

Our achievement is based on our dedication to upholding high-quality standards rather than focusing on quantity. While it may be tempting to accept as many jobs as possible when establishing a business, we have consistently prioritized clients who can meet our minimum price and have never compromised by lowering our rates. By targeting clients we want to work with, we are able to consistently provide quality experiences without overextending our bandwidth. Although it can be difficult to turn away potential clients, our focus on creating exceptional experiences for our clients is our top priority.

Through my experiences, I have learned that effective communication with clients is crucial. It is imperative to establish clear expectations and create visual aids. Additionally, I follow a policy of under-promising and over-delivering to ensure client satisfaction.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To start the day, we would visit my mother’s home for a delicious Mexican-style breakfast consisting of chilaquiles with huevos rancheros, and finish off with some sweet pan dulce and coffee. As a proud Mexican-American, my family and cultural traditions hold great significance. Next, I would take my guests to The Star in Frisco, a must-see destination for any Dallas Cowboys fan. For a tasty selection of drinks and tapas, I would recommend Casa Blanca in the Bishop Arts area.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to express my gratitude towards my family for their unwavering support. My brother, Edgardo Azuara, a fellow entrepreneur, has been a constant source of encouragement and guidance throughout my journey. My other brother, Oscar Azuara, has always been my reliable assistant for any strenuous work required in my party setups. Lastly, my mother, Armida Azuara, serves as a model of a hardworking woman who inspires me to give my best.
