We had the good fortune of connecting with Alan Goldsher and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I already had a business (an Emmy Awarded production company since 2011) when I began my current project. When the pandemic happened, it caused me to reflect on my work, my priorities and most importantly – my capabilities, which prompted me to develop a new skill, producing and editing my own content, as opposed to hiring others to do it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Before starting RE-Invention TV in 2011, I spent over 25 years selling some sort of media advertising – including newspapers, magazines and television, usually catering to the needs of small businesses, with the occasional corporate sponsors as well.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to take people on the East River Ferry from the Bronx to Wall Street, followed by a trip to Battery Park, The Highline, the Tram to Roosevelt Island and other places – if they only have a day. But, the outer boroughs have so much to offer, especially The Bronx with City island, Bronx Little Italy and the Botanical Gardens, I try not to leave them out as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My team of hosts have volunteered their time and kent their skills and passion to our project. We have also collaborated with many civic groups, non-profits, pr firms and others to help us spread the word on our ‘free video stories’ for small businesses, artists and non-profits.
