We had the good fortune of connecting with Aiman Raza and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aiman, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I love taking risks in my life especially while building a business. We don’t know what we are good at until we try! I see it as a game, sometimes you win & sometimes you lose but a lesson is always learned.
I was working at whataburger before I started my business, I was able to save up a little bit of money to be able to invest into “my dream.” I had sleepless nights making sure I spent all of my savings into the RIGHT business, which it was because it was an investment into myself. We just never know what’s on the other side sometimes. I took that first risk really because I just didn’t have anything to lose at that point anymore, I was already at a point in my life that I didn’t want to be in so I had a feeling I can really only go up from here, I can’t go anymore down.
Having my back against the wall helped me a lot take that leap of faith. So because of my first risk & how it paid off, I am & always will be open to taking more risks throughout my life with other businesses.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I believe what sets me apart from other businesses is my shops. My shops mimic an Art Museum, some paintings are by myself & some are by other local artists in the Dallas area. Each wall tells a story so clients love coming in & recoding/taking pictures in front of them.
I’m most proud of building a trust between amazing people who come into my shop & spend their hard earned money. Whether it’s a tenant of The Body Bar or a client for body contouring.
Success is never easy, there is no short cut to it. Whatever goal you have in mind, you have to work hard for it. Good & honest work will always pay off!
To overcome challenges you have to stay focus at all times & dedicated to your career especially when times are hard or distractions come your way.
A lesson I’ve learned is to not confuse business with friendships! Sometimes it can be hard to say no, but you have to learn before it’s too late!
I want the world to know that it all comes from my heart. We will make sure that we give people their moneys worth & we are fair with everyone.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start off the weekend by of course, stopping by my shop, The Body Bar, to hit up the tattoo artist!
After a quick mini tattoo session I would catch a drink at The Statler Hotel located in the heart of downtown Dallas. The Scout Bar located inside of the hotel has a pretty fun atmosphere. I’ve never had a problem there honestly, all the workers are super sweet. The environment is pretty fun with the pool table, ping pong table & other little games.
The canva hotel is also a very nice place to visit. The rooftop bar has amazing views to downtown with the BEST Buffalo cauliflower appetizer!
To end the night, I would stop by either the Trinity Park or Klyde Warren park to relax.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God.
God deserves all of the credit for believing in me at my lowest time when no one else did. God helped me change my life for the best, he saw the good in my heart & let me show what all I am capable of doing in my life.
I’m blessed enough to live life with a purpose which is making people feel confident again through beauty services & helping other beauty specialists to find a comfortable team & environment to work in.
I prayed for peace in my life & He gave me that.
So BIG shoutout to him for giving me an opportunity for a 2nd chance at life.
