We had the good fortune of connecting with Agata Jedrzychowska and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Agata, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My aim is to make a positive impact on the community and the world by promoting artistic swimming. Through providing valuable tips, drills, and resources, I support coaches and athletes in developing and mastering their skills and achieving success in the sport. Since there is not a lot of information available on the sport I share accessible training information, I empower individuals to excel and foster a greater understanding and appreciation for artistic swimming.
Furthermore, I strive to ignite interest in artistic swimming among both children and adults. By introducing more people to the sport and sharing my passion for it, I hope to inspire them to participate, coach, judge, or simply support artistic swimming as a sport. Ultimately, my goal is to spread the love for the sport far and wide, enriching lives and strengthening communities through the joy of artistic swimming.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been involved in artistic swimming for over 22 years, wearing different hats as an athlete, judge, and coach. I started out representing Poland internationally before shifting gears to coaching nine years ago in London. After that, I moved to Switzerland and spent four years working with a successful club and the national team. But then I wanted to try something new. So, I started teaching synchro online and traveling around the world. It’s been pretty innovative for the sport, opening up opportunities for coaches and swimmers to learn online.
The journey hasn’t been easy, and honestly, it’s still tough. I’m relatively new to this online entrepreneurship gig, and it comes with its fair share of challenges. Not only am I a synchro coach, which demands a diverse skill set, but I also find myself navigating website creation, video editing, marketing, and many other tasks I never imagined tackling. Currently, I’m a one-person show, but I envision a future where I can delegate some of these responsibilities.
What I’ve realized along the way is that nothing is impossible. When I tell people I coach artistic swimming online, I still get some puzzled looks. Many think it’s undoable. Yet, I’ve proven otherwise by offering one-on-one sessions, crafting online courses and webinars, and even maintaining a YouTube channel where I share my synchro expertise. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m optimistic it’ll gain traction and become more widely recognized.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Picking favorites is tough for me because I’m all about the variety the world offers. I started this journey about a year and a half ago, and everywhere I go, I find something amazing. Each place has its own charm that I adore. It’d be a dream to bring together all my favorite things from around the world into one spot. I know it’s not really possible, but it’s a nice idea to think about.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate it to my family and friends who are my number one fans and always support me in my ideas and lift me when I am feeling doubtful. They also push me to come up with new ideas and get my creativity flowing.
