We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrianne Porcelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adrianne, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
When someone hires a video production company, they need your expertise in what you and expect that they will get a product that meets those needs. Turquoise Video Productions has always been a team player with our clients – we take what they think they need and create a media product that either meets that need precisely as asked or (if they let us) evaluate that to something they never imagined was possible. We take each project and personalize it for THAT one customer – we don’t deliver the same product every time because all companies and clients are 100% different from each other. We make sure they get what they wanted and don’t stops until they are satisfied. So I believe that level of service has made us successful over the past 19 years in business.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Both me and my business partner, Aytek (also my husband) come from families of artists – especial visuals arts. So I’ve had a camera in front of my face since elementary school. Naturally I want to study film/tv in college and got my B.S. in Film/ TV at TCU. We started TVP in 2004, just a little after we graduated from TCU. It was not easy at first, there was a lot of part-time jobs we’d get here and there, but not enough to provide a livable wage. So I got more training in Dallas working with a post-production house editing nation commercials. After about 2-3 years, we got to a point of being able to focus on TVP as a full-time business. I can’t stress enough about networking… You have to go and meet people in your industry. Where it’s in person, remote, social media (linkedIn) etc. Once I figured that out, the work came more frequent and set us up for consistent work and return clients. Also, communication, answers calls, call back the same day (if you can), answer emails in a timely manner (don’t wait more than 24 hours to reply). I’ve been told on serval occasions that they chose TVP because I simply answers the phone. Seems ridiculous, right? What I want people to know about our brand is that we care about your business as much as our own – we’re here to serve you and no one else.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spot? There are so many!! I would definitely take then to the Modern Art Museum – they have some great pieces and it’s just a beautiful building. Walk around TCU and show them our Legacy Brick (has our names and graduation date!) I’d also take them to see the cattle drive in the stockyards (it’s free and fun to see real cowboys !) We’d eat at Salsa Limon for lunch and have a margarita! Then for dinner we’d either get some amazing locally sourced meat and sides at Bonnell’s or get some fresh pasta at Piattello! Have some craft beer at Funky Picnic and snack there. Definitely take a yoga class (or 2) with Angela Hall! Lastly, go around town on a Pedego Bike and BBQ Guided Tour (electric bikes so when you’ve had too much BBQ it’ll go for you!)
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
BrandEra is a marketing firm in Fort Worth that has been a loyal business partner with Turquoise for over 10 years. They have been our #1 fan since then and we love working with them on the projects they get and have taken us all over the DFW metroplex for shoots.
