Meet Adrian Faubel | Family Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrian Faubel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adrian, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think the biggest factor is that I keep my business client-based or client-centric. I always hold my client at the center of all decision making. I like to ask myself, “If I was in my client shoes, what would my preference be as far as communication, deliverables, and overall experience?”

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have always loved photography. From a very young age I said I wanted to “be a photographer when I grow up”. It certainly wasn’t a direct path. While I was working full time as a graphic designer for a civil engineering firm, I started photographing couples, babies, high school seniors, birthday parties, you name it, as a side hustle. I eventually realized my passion was in photographing families, and I fell in love with newborn photography after becoming a mother myself. I really connected with the importance of documenting parents with their children at every stage of life. Even more specifically I really love capturing Mothers with their children. As a Mom it’s so easy to take a million photos of your kids, but you are rarely in the photos yourself.
Something I am definitely proud of is the client base I built over the last decade. My business has almost entirely grown organically from word of mouth and referrals. Aside from maintaining social media accounts, I have never needed to invest my time in advertising.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One evening would include dinner at Jose followed by drinks at Inwood Tavern. I also love Sushi so we would likely hit up Oishi or Uchi. Some other favorite dinner spots would be The Charles, Town Hearth, Joe Leo, Del Frisco’s, and Tolouse. Without a doubt, I would have more than one brunch on the itinerary! You can’t beat starting the day with mimosas. 🙂 We would probably do one in Bishop Arts District on Saturday and another at Legacy West on Sunday. Most of my friends are in the same stage of life as I am, with young children, so depending on if we had kids with us, we would probably go to the Perot Museum, Klyde Warren Park, Northpark Mall, The Star in Frisco, or The Dallas Zoo.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout would absolutely have to go out to my husband, Sterling. We have two small children (Baker and Hays), and without his help and support I couldn’t balance being a Mom and running a successful business.
