We had the good fortune of connecting with Addie Roberts and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Addie, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind success of General Wellness is being authentic always and meeting people where they are. It’s not helpful at all for me to discuss macronutrients with someone who doesn’t even know how to prepare food or how to buy healthy foods. Additionally, if I’m not transparent with where my health and nutrition barriers are, then I become unapproachable. No one is perfect, and being able to tell clients we are all in this together builds trust.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets my nutrition consulting company apart from the rest is our unique approach to reach individuals through Corporate Wellness programs around the Dallas area. There may be several Registered Dietitians around town, but not many of them go directly to employees at their workplace and help them reach their health and wellness goals. Deciding this was the route I wanted to go with my business wasn’t easy, but I’ve loved being able to bring access to nutrition appointments to so many people and encourage workplaces to invest in their employee’s health. If you work in the Dallas or surrounding areas and want to learn about how to get nutrition appointments at your workplace, contact me. It’s likely covered with your corporate insurance plans and is often free for everyone!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If someone was coming to see me in Dallas I would definitely take them to Katy Trail to walk and most likely take them for smoothie bowls afterwards at the Original Chop Shop or Juiceland! There are so many great restaurants here in Dallas so it’s hard to narrow it down, but most likely I’d also be going to either Monkey King Noodle Company, Meso Maya, Zoli’s Pizza, or Neighborhood Services too.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I don’t think I would be where I am today without the support of my husband, Connor. He encouraged me to make the leap and start my own business from day one and has been there with me through all the ups and downs along the way. Everyone needs a reminder that they CAN reach their goals, and Connor is always there to remind me of that!
