We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Falla and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adam, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
We are approaching youth sports in this country a little bit differently. We have created a community of both passionate adult players and a youth program combined. We put energy & resources into providing fun adult playing opportunities and then ask them to be stakeholders on coaching & leading our young players. Lonestar FHC is a sports club from 6-60, a full family experience and that has been our strength.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Lonestar Field Hockey is a unique organization – a sports club for the entire family where parents & kids all play in competitive teams and pursue their passion for the sport together. We believe team sports is more important for kids today than every before. As our era continues to digitize so much of life, fun exercise / sport that you experience face to face with friends can vastly improve the quality of life.
All physical & mental health markers are positively affected by the participation in team sports and so we want to give these opportunities to as many Texan & Oklahoman kids & parents together as possible.
As a sport, field hockey is fast, fun with lots of goals and challenges the full cross section of athletic ability. It’s actually the 4th most played team sport in the world and it’s exciting to see it take off here in Texas.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of the most interesting Museums I have ever been to is the 6th Floor Museum on the life & assassination of JFK, this is an absolute must do for sure!
If it’s the right time of year then the Stockyards Rodeo in Fort Worth is a totally unique event that you should experience.
And as a sports fan, the AT&T Stadium in Arlington is the probably the best stadium in the world – any event you can watch in that venue will be a bucket list item for sure.
For some amazing Comfort Food, I love Mike’s Fried Chicken and if you want to come slightly up scale from that, Roots Southern Table is top notch restaurant for a nice dinner.
If I was eating earlier in the day, then i’d want brunch at Sadelle’s in Highland Park – this place is just excellent.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout would be to Ali & Una Murdoch the founders of Lonestar Field Hockey Club, their drive, passion and time created a unique organization from nothing. As with all start-up organizations, they had to overcome some huge hurdles and their perseverance has results in amazing opportunities for young athletes across Texas and Oklahoma, that has changed lives.
