We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaron, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Originality. We use every opportunity to be innovative in our branding as well as uniquely original in our staging design concepts. Too many times I’ve seen many businesses in the Real-Estate industry who stage homes and their execution is always that same stereotypical “cookie cutter” look.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Aaron Jackson Designs is a diverse business. We offer clients interior decorating, homestaging, real-estate photography and original art. We are a one stop shop for realtors and home owners. We curate all of the art we use in our staging designs. We also make our own throw pillows and have reupholstered some of our furniture. It doesn’t have to be expensive. I create the look of luxury because buyers like to envision themselves living that way but I don’t have to spend a lot to get the look. As a designer and an artist I can take something thrifted (for example) and make it look high-end or take a blank canvas and create a eye catching masterpiece .Then I have an original piece that adds something unique and interesting to the design concept. You can find art work by Aaron Jackson exhibited in the lobby of the Aloft Dallas/Euless a Marriott property as well as Ellison Valencia Art Gallery in the Bishop Arts District. We do photograph all of our work along with creative video production we use for social media marketing. Im most proud that we are able to offer so much value to our clientele. Not many companies can compete with that. Getting to where I am today was not easy. From declined cards to borrowing money from friends was exactly how things began. I started out using my own furniture. Many times I came home to an empty space . Me and my dog Pye would sleep on the floor. It wasn’t easy but it was necessary for growth. I truly comprehend the meaning of “Growth never comes from comfort. ” But, I value those humble beginnings. Its a reminder of how far I have come.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hello? BBQ! Texas is known for BBQ. Lakewood Smokehouse would be on the list. I love how diverse Dallas is when it comes to food. I personally love Indian food. So India 101 in Irving, TX would be a definite stop. For a more unique experience we would have to visit the Indian Temple in downtown Dallas. They serve the most amazing food after their prayer service. Also enjoy Legacy West food hall and live music. Art galleries are also a fun thing to do along with pop up exhibits.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Auntie Sue Balik & my close friends who continuously provide me moral support. DeLorean, Wayne & Liz.
