We had the good fortune of connecting with Corry Brinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Corry, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
When I start a CoHouse Records I started it with the intention of creating a safe space for creative people to come share ideas show their talents and be recognized for those talents. Because of things like miss information, ignorance, or the lack of trust, record labels have been given a bad reputation. CohouseRecords end goal is to change the publics perception by giving artists the opportunity, even if it’s one time, to go for their dream with a machine behind them that believes their dream can become a reality.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I believe what sets Cohouse Records apart is the fact that it’s run the same way that I would run my own household with honesty and transparency. I have no problem letting my artist know what I can and cannot accomplish for them. Managing personnel from different aspects of life whether they’re off the street or whether they’re straight out of a corporate office at the end of the day or artist would like the same thing, recognition. Nothing about what I’m doing is easy everything comes with its challenges weather is creating the right music creating the right image or something as little as being on time at an event all challenges have to be overcome no matter what. In this business results are what matters the most and with CoHouse records I plan on achieving those results.
Music by CoHouse can be heard on SoundCloud.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
To be honest if I got a friend visiting in town I’m bringing them straight to my house sure I can take them out to some fancy restaurant whatever but why do that when you can come over the house light the barbecue grill, grab sum drinks and have fun the real way. I’m a homebody by nature.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well I’ve been doing music all my life pretty much since fifth grade but with the direction that I’ve taken I truly believe that none of this would’ve been possible without being able to witness the driving dedication of the CEO and founder of Falah X Clothing Co (@falahxclothing) Kayona Hannah. Being able to witness one person manage a big time artist manage a big-time clothing company manage a regular work life why also managing models and creating outlets for them to be recognized ,showed me that if one person is capable of all that then another person is capable of at least a little bit if they try. That’s why I’m here, to try.
