We had the good fortune of connecting with LaQuan Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaQuan, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from a small town in the south of Arkansas called Dermott population is 3,000. Growing up there made me realize that I had to make it somehow just to be in a better position to help my family and also myself. I never knew what I would be doing after I graduated high school but I just knew I didn’t want to be stuck in a career that I know I didn’t enjoy but things changed when I became a photographer. Photography has been my therapy over the years it has benefit me so much and also made me a better person today.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
What sets me apart from others is that I’m always down to be different. A lot of my greatest shoots come from no planning just using what I had in site and making it work in my own way and it always turns out to be different but dope.

I got to where I am today just by being consistent and never giving up . Most importantly prayer and Grind. It was difficult starting off because you have no support but I feel like if you go into anything you want to do In life for your enjoyment and passion you will always end up on top.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way is to never let anyone determine where you will go in life because you can do anything you put your mind to if you believe in yourself. It starts with you ! Keeping that mindset will take you so far in life.

I want the world to know that before I hang my camera up I want people to know who Q the photographer is and what impact me & my business have on people.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly it’s so many places I could take them to it’s hard to choose. lol

Going into photography and preparing myself for my leap of faith I would always listen to seminars for motivation. Bishop TD jakes, Steve Harvey, Eric Thomas, Les Brown and inky Johnson played a big part in that.
