We had the good fortune of connecting with Madison Mouser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madison, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose this career because of the vast opportunities it provides. I am able to gain relationships and see life in so many different ways. I believe as humans we were created to grow with one another together not alone. We see that when God creative Eve. Adam needed company, someone to share life with. Portraiture fills my heart because I get to know and see different lives and families around me. I get to capture their unique stories. It’s more than just taking pictures, its meeting new people, families, couples and learning who they are. It’s meeting new friends and new connections. It’s doing what humans were created to do, and thats to love one another. I chose this path because it gives me joy to not only express myself but also be able to express others through their portraits. I enjoy all types of photography but portraiture is the one that will always satisfy my heart.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I will always be a portrait photographer but, I’m wanting to be a part of a product studio as well. I love studio work and the beauty it brings to products for brands. With my story telling from portraiture, that puts me apart from others because I strive to create the brands story through their products. I got to where I am in the product world from the help of my amazing professor Lisa Means. She got me my first product studio internship that I will be completing this summer. I’ve learned so many lessons but the most important one is to go out and meet people. Connections are so important in todays world. I want the world to know that I do this because I love people. I don’t do it just for the pretty pictures. I strive to express peoples stories because we all have different ones. Whether that be a persons story or a brands story. Knowing and seeing each others stories is what brings people together and thats what I want to do in this career.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow! Well I am a die hard animal lover, so we’d start by going to the zoo! Maybe even horseback riding at sunrise. After we’d definitely get food because food is my love language! I’m not sure how to even choose what food because I love it all. But for this day we’d get burgers at In-N-Out! I’d want to eat outside because I love nature and the outdoors so we’d go to a park or the lake and have a picnic.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The amount of love and support I’ve had pursuing this career has been such a blessing. This career can be nerve racking when it comes to stable income. Thats a scary thing to step into, but I knew this was where I was meant to be. My family, friends, and school community have taken all those fears of money away. They have pushed me and supported me through this whole journey! I especially want to thank one of my professors, Lisa Means. She has pushed and helped me gain connections in the real working world of photography. She is a huge part of my development and I can’t thank her enough for getting me to where I am now. Most of all, God has really filled my heart during this process. He’s helped me grow relationships with so many people and has led me to be a part of their special life moments. I love having a career where I get to capture His work in our lives.
