We had the good fortune of connecting with Kierra McAlpine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kierra, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
You keep going by never underestimating yourself because you never know how far you can go and what you will achieve in the road ahead. It’s not like you can go backwards in life, so you keep going no matter what. So why give up? I believe that no matter the obstacle, you just continue to push.

At times, I sit and think about how I can make my business better for my customers. What else can I do to help someone? Those are the things that keep me going to be willing to learn and grow my business as I grow myself.

What should our readers know about your business?
Honestly, after struggling with dry and sensitive skin and trying to find the right product with so many attempts — I decided to create my own. Within doing so, I grew attraction from peers and friends and decided to create a business to help others with the same issue as me. I stand 4’11 in a very big world that can be intimidating. So, I also added my self defense keychains to help others feel safe like me. Sometimes, in Austin, Texas, there can be a crowd; and unfortunately, you just cannot trust people these days. My keychains are a discrete form of protection that are now being sold to parents for their children. I never thought the things I created for myself would be so global and beneficial within a short time span.

Before creating this, I really lacked a lot of confidence and held a lot of doubt if this could really help others. I wasn’t sure if it was even helping me, even with the results I was experiencing and the feedback I was receiving locally. Until one day, I decided to just do it. I literally told myself, “Why not,” because why would I not at least try.

Knowing I have sold to 80% of the United States in just a 5 month time span is extremely important to me. It keeps me going to know I am putting smiles on many different people’s faces while enhancing their skin care and protecting their peace and life. That’s something I’m extremely proud of.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would most definitely visit Yall’s Cafe located in Round Rock, Tx. Their food is amazing & they also have a variety of southern food choices you could choose from. Every Friday night they have a band that plays live music there, who doesn’t enjoy good soul music & the best thing about it you get to eat while sitting there listening to it. That’s a bonus! The staff there are such sweethearts they always greet their customers with a smile & respect.
