We had the good fortune of connecting with Noelle Pratt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Noelle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I personally love to motivate and encourage people to be their best, and I love the idea of women supporting women. When Covid-19 hit, everybody was thrown off guard, many lost loved ones and many lost their job. There was a lot of fear and negativity in the air, and I wanted to bring a light to a dark time. I wanted to design something where I can post daily motivations, feature small women-owned business’, little pick me ups, and more. I wanted to make a place for women to connect, build friendships, and help each other. I ultimately wanted to produce a positive escape for women around the world. So, I created and published 4 Da Girlz.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a women’s empowerment business owner! Our brand, 4 Da Girlz, is dedicated to the uplifting and empowering of women everywhere. I am so excited to meet people from all different walks of life, and see where the future takes us. We are still in our first year, so we can’t compare our success yet. However, I am very pleased with where we are at now. It has been a difficult, but manageable journey so far. The most difficult part has been balancing being a small business owner, a college student, a collegiate cheerleader, and my job on the side. Writing in my notes app has helped me a lot. I am continuously brainstorming ideas for 4 Da Girlz, but I dedicate one day a week to cleaning up the website, finding posts, motivations, and more so I am prepared for the following week. I have learned to not compare my business to someone else’s. Their story is not our story. I’ve learned that when you focus on where you think you should be, you fail to realize how far you’ve come, and the people you are helping. I want women around the world to know that they are amazing, and deserve to be empowered. I want them to know that we want to inspire them, and be a positive light for them in this negative world. We do not have the answers to everything, but we will be here for you when you need uplifting.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, on the day they arrive, I would take them to Las Colinas by Toyota Music Factory, visit all the shops, eat a delicious dinner, and watch live music. The next day I would take them to Six Flags and ride rollercoasters. My ambassador Zharria and I both agree that it is one of the most fun places to visit in the DFW area. On their last day in the city, I would take them to Downtown and go to the food trucks at Klyde Warren Park for lunch. Then, we would go visit the Sweet Tooth Museum, ride around on scooters, and eat dinner at the XOXO Dining Room.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank everyone who has been part of this process. To my family, the girls who have participated in any of the photoshoots, and everyone who is subscribed or following 4 Da Girlz, I am so very thankful for all of your support, and I love you all!!! I also would love to recognize my ambassadors, Zharria and Sam, for assisting me with 4 Da Girlz. Being a small business owner and managing school, cheer, and work is very hard, but having them around takes some relief off my shoulders. They are college students themselves, and they are some of the most hard-working and driven people I know. Y’all are amazing, and I am so grateful to have such passionate people for 4 Da Girlz on my team. Love y’all!
