We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaleesa Randle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaleesa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The idea of full freedom and flexibility was, and still is, very appealing to me. I do not wish to work for someone else…being compensated what they THINK I am worth. If I have to work for anyone, I rather it be me. I stumbled upon this question somewhere some time ago: why work hard for someone else, to help them build their dreams? I almost felt like it was placed just for me to see! Think about it. It’s true. Not to mention, time with my son is extremely important to me. I don’t prefer to miss out on anything of his.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In the retail business, it is hard to set yourself apart. There are so many e-commerce stores now, it’s crazy! I’d like to think my customer service and my outgoing attitude sets me apart. Additionally, I’m very relatable to. I’m extremely excited about the future. I can literally see my brand growing and I know, with continued consistency, it will grow even bigger. Being consistent has gotten me where I am today. It’s not easy! Matter of fact, my biggest challenge is consistency! I have my days – like anyone else. That’s why I need a mentor! Likewise, my biggest lessons come from my biggest challenge. When I’m not consistent, I pay for it. It takes me back 2-3 steps. Then I have to work even harder to get where I once was. I want the world to know that I’m not in it just for the money. My business is a reflection of me, what I enjoy, etc. I started my business in late 2018, completely quit, followed by on & off. I came back fully early 2020. I couldn’t leave it alone.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, there are plenty of places to go in H-Town! Sunday belongs to The Breakfast Club to start the week off right. During the week, we would to go to any of the following for food, drink and handing out: Phil & Dereks, Turkey Leg Hut, Seaside Lounge, Steak 88, Willie G’s, Prospect Park (either locations) and Crawfish Cafe. We’d definitely have to hit up Candy Shack Daquiris! I would also visit Texas Treeventure and Balmore Crystal Clear Lagoon. These are the most interesting places I’ve visited. Texas Treeventure is an entire tree fortress of rope courses. Balmore Crystal Clear Lagoon is a man-made lagoon in the middle of Humble – very pretty!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother (Constance) and son (Ace) are my all-time supporters. She is one of my VIP customers, my marketer, my motivator…everything! My son is a heck of a marketer so watch out world! Additionally, my closest friends help keep me on track as much as possible. I don’t have a mentor yet. When it’s easily affordable, I plan to invest in one. However, I do follow these no bs, all about business ladies: SupaCent (@supa_cent), Ronnie (ronnebrown), and Milano (@iammilanrouge) on IG. They are my mentors as far as I’m concerned. Also, you all (Dallas Voyage) sprinkled a little glitter on me as well…lol. The first interview increased my brand awareness, so Shoutout to you all. Lastly, Afterpay recently spotlighted my small business as I was featured in their Top Trends.
