Meet Reginald White | Father & Owner of The RW Brand

We had the good fortune of connecting with Reginald White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Reginald, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It was kind of twofold, I wanted to create something that would have positive impact on my community but I also wanted to create something I could hand down to my daughter. RW Brand (Respect Women Brand) was created to be streetwear meets positive words of affirmation towards women. I wanted people to see my shirts and know exactly what I stood for. Hopefully through dope clothing with positive imagery we can help make this world a safer place for all women.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m the owner of The RW Brand, we’re a clothing company based on the idea, of Respecting Women, and Protecting Women. I feel like what sets us apart from other brands in our field is that our passion is more than just the clothes , its a lifestyle we really live and we really love. I am extremely proud that in our 1st 6 months of being a company we sold over 500 items, took part in many great Pop-Up’s, and used the proceeds from our Protect Women campaign to help educate women in our local community about firearms and firearm safety. Even though our early success feels like it happened over night, it was really because of how much my family and friends believed in the brand, they bought, shared, and told everyone they could about the brand. This is a new field for me so every day I’m trying to learn more and more about the clothing business, educating myself, asking questions from people in the business, reading about marketing etc. I want the world to know that The RW Brand is really aiming to change the world in a positive way via dope clothes.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I always take people to my favorite restaurant Mena’s in Carrollton. I grew up in Carrollton I know the city like the back of my hand so I can always take you somewhere there to have a good time. Quinlan’s is a bar in my area off Trinity Mills and Marsh its like a real life cheers. Its small good drinks and good people. Now if we wanna get outside of Carrollton i’d take them to Sidecar Social in Addison, they have games, good food, and a great patio. For nightlife its definitely Downtown Dallas/Deep Ellum. I love Off the Cuff really fun spot, Ruins because I love tequila, Off the record for the vibe, or Dahlia if I want to get fancy. Also its easy to forget because I live here but we also have some really cool places like Kylde Warren Park, The Perot Museum and the Sixth floor Museum if they wanted to check out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My father, Richard White, is the only male out of my grandmother’s 4 children. He is the living embodiment of Respecting Women. Married 20+ years to my step-mother. Watching the way he treated his mother, sisters, wife and daughter showed me how I wanted treat all women around me. He can also build anything he see’s and wont quit til its done right, seeing him do that gave me idea that I could literally do anything I put my mind to even create a clothing company based on the ideas he showed me through his actions. I love you Dad.
