We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominic Bonsignore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dominic, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with the idea for my business because of the poor treatment I was receiving from other businesses. People like doing business with people they can: 1. Count on to get the job done. 2. Trust with their money. In my experience in the entertainment industry, I would constantly pay money for services that were either late, half done, delivered with poor quality, or just out right scams. It was a terrible experience, and extremely frustrating to say the least. After years of dealing with this type of unprofessionalism, I decided to become the solution not only to my dilemma, but the dilemma of other artists just like me. Most artists are simply looking for people they can trust to get the job done right, and deliver it on time. And since my passion was fueled by countless people dropping the ball, I began putting in tons of hours and focus into creating my own brand that would succeed where everyone else was failing. And that’s what I did, and Harmini Productions was birthed.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I started music in 2006 I was completely lost, both as an artist and as a consumer. I didn’t know what steps I needed to take to become a professional artist, and I definitely didn’t know anyone I could trust to help get me there. I was constantly wing’n it. Eventually, I got connected to a rap group that I eventually joined, and we worked together for about 2 years. We wrote songs together, recorded together, and sat in on the mixing and mastering sessions together. All of which were done locally in the bedroom of someones house. After those two years had ended, the group basically split up for various reasons and I went on to be a solo artist. During this time, there was an outdoor homeless ministry I would go to each year to speak and perform my music. After a couple years of going out there, I got connected to someone who said they wanted to manage me. Around that same time I decided to begin learning more about the music business. I wanted to know how to do the things that most artists always seemed to need, and I wanted to make money being someone they could count on. And since so many people were dropping the ball all the time, I figured all I had to do was learn the ropes, and simply do what I said I was going to do. Eight years later, I found myself a lot more knowledgeable about the inner workings of how music was created and very educated on how to help artists in need. In 2010, I began utilizing my knowledge and resources to help others artists. As I began to do to this, my name and reputation began to grow. More and more artists started contacting me for services. Now here we are 10 years later in 2020, and Harmini Productions has been named one of THE MOST TRUSTED NAMES IN BUSINESS ENTERTAINMENT, according to Yahoo News and Yahoo Finance. Not to mention the 4.9 star rating that has been maintained for the last decade. All in all, I have learned that people are usually not afraid to spend money. What they’re afraid of is being ripped off and scammed by people who aren’t equipped to do what they say they can do. So when an artist finds someone they can trust, they seriously hold on to them. And if 10,000 artists know they can trust you, then you will have 10,000 clients to do business with.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The last several people that have visited Dallas have absolutely loved being in the midst of downtown and deep ellum. It’s simply an area where so much is always happening, and so many people love to hang out. People are always doing something. Whether it’s bike riding, filming, taking photos, walking dogs, eating, riding bikes, skateboarding, or riding scooters -there is always something going on in downtown Dallas.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank all of my fans, family, and friends who have stuck by me throughout this entire journey! Their words of affirmation, encouragement, and prayers have helped me reach the place where I am today. Without them, I never would have made it. And I will always be forever grateful to each and everyone of them.
